Yeah, that's a GIANT 12 yr. old, and a really little contact patch.  He should be on some 1.75s

Re: My sone is READY for the season! rocking MID SCHOOL FLAIR!! WOOOOOOOOO

that bike turned out great!!  i would agree that he probably needs some 1.5 wheels.  how much does he weigh?  i would stick with the aluminum.  does he live there with you?  the reason i ask is Oregon doesn't have an NBL track.

Re: My sone is READY for the season! rocking MID SCHOOL FLAIR!! WOOOOOOOOO

oh then its aba or whatever lol yeah he JUST turned 12 at the end of march, 5'9" 138lbs wears a size 12 shoe!!!!! he can palm a basketball since last year.....just bought him some purple sumo's with dk sealed hubs 1.75"

he looked soooo squirly this year on those wheels, after the races were over on the way home I asked him how his bike felt, he was kinda quite and said ok....I asked do those wheels feel funny this year? he said "kinda" I laughed and told him how he looked uncomfortable on them and he agreed, so time for him to move up to man wheels!

fyi thats a 1995 PRO XL frame....and pro bars.

Re: My sone is READY for the season! rocking MID SCHOOL FLAIR!! WOOOOOOOOO

oh btw those wheels are stiff as it gets, the spokes are a little larger gauge, at least thats what the bike shop guy who laced them said, he also said those wheels were the stiffest bmx wheel that was that thin he had ever laced....I think a 160-180lb finesse rider could race them no problem

Re: My sone is READY for the season! rocking MID SCHOOL FLAIR!! WOOOOOOOOO

Just because hes that tall doesnt mean he needs 1.75s imo.  I weigh 190 pounds, ride 1.5 rhyno lites, jump 25 foot step ups, and mine still spin straight.  Keep him on 1.5s for awhile.

Re: My sone is READY for the season! rocking MID SCHOOL FLAIR!! WOOOOOOOOO

I bet he'l blow the doors off his old man!!! You should have a blast with him this season!! You guys don't know it but his son turned down basketball this year because he ...."wants to race BMX"!!! That had to be one of the coolest thing to hear him say!! I still think about that!! With his height and thin build, he has the potential to BLOW other kids away!! With you behind him for support and mechanical work, he'll far surpass the other kids quickly!!

See, I knew it!! I bet that with his staure and enthusiasm, he'll be awesome! Crash! You are one brave mofo! You better get your butt over to that website I told you about and get a full face helmet!! And don't worry, the face guard will also protect your beard!!! Man that's awesome! Father and son ridin' and hangin' at the track!! I'm not sure? Thrash can verify it but I think that Jesse is laughing? At least giggling a little!!
