I have a set of Nickel bars here that I've had since 81. My dad extended them and I flattened them out. Since then I have had them powdered Proline red to preserve the nickel better.
I have several pairs of Vbars and I love them.I love my GT bars better though.

Re: V-Bars discuss
I dig my rare 82 Sting bars. I do prefer the traditional Sting bars but this is a rare 82 Sting Comp and I figured I'd put the correct year bars on it. Many people dont know that Schwinn made V bars for one year for the Stings (82)

Thanks bud! We are stepping things up here, and have big plans for this coming year. BIG news is coming soon...! We will see another huge collaboration between two "old school" companies, and it's gonna be awesome. That's all that I can say right now until I'm able to let the cat out of the bag...
It's gonna be another fun year for retro goodness.......

Re: V-Bars discuss
Redline made some 8" V bars recently. Planet BMX has them.
there's V bars, and there's V bars.
I've ridden a lot of too skinny V bars with to much back sweep, and they're awful.
I think Redline did make some nice pro sized bars with proper dims.

Re: V-Bars discuss
V-bars were the business.
I remember seeing my first pair of these bars around 76-77 on a local racer's bike. He had a nickel set, and my friends and I went crazy over them.
All my bikes are for sale except the Cheetahs. Inquire within.

V-Bars are cool as hell
CW's handlebars look hideous

Re: V-Bars discuss
CW bars are different but they ride nice. they are crazy stiff and do not flex like V bars.
the v bar design flexes too much to be competitive for todays riders.
I really like the redline V bars myself. most of my redlines have v bars. and i agree the 24"
bars are small but the larger 26" feel fine and the 28" bars are downright roomy
