1982 Thruster Tri-Power XL

NEW JERSEY!!!!!! A 2015 bmxmuseum.com calendar build off winner!!!!!!!

I purchased this f/f here from member JS-44SDS. This was a former Thruster factory rider's bike. This bike was only raced and NEVER street ridden. It's condition shows. OG chrome and decals.

Re: 1982 Thruster Tri-Power XL

I know XL's weren't out in 1980, as I have a Thruster dealer catalog from 1980. According to http://thrusterbmx.wordpress.com/category/bike-models/ the head tube "T" decal didn't come out until 1982, which is when the flat brake bridge was introduced. Your's has the round brake bridge and the "T" decal, so that throws those theories out. Since no one really knows for sure, I'm going to guess it as a late 81'.

Beautiful frame/fork, and I'm looking forward to seeing this build.

Looking to trade a mint gold Power Stem for a blue one.

I'll buy that. An 81 frame with 82 decals could easily have been readily available to a factory rider. cool

The head tube decal should be Speed Unlimited if it has round break bridge. Factory rider or not. Cward was spot on.

How else do you explain this?? The decals are OG no doubt. Do you think if a factory rider asked for the new "T" head tube decal that they wouldn't be accommodated?? I'm just saying that it is not too far fetched. It could easily be possible. This came from a reputable member.
