new 2014 Fairdale TAJ 26"
website says: "The frame, fork, cranks and bars are all track certified chromoly. Good quality Maxxis tires, Sunday stem, front and rear Odyssey U-brakes and an Odyssey Quik Slic cable on the back. A sealed integrated headset and sealed mid bottom bracket round out the pretty dialed BMX spec if I do say so myself!"
i can't find any info on the geo. also wondering if the rims are comparable to odyssey bmx rims, what size cogs can be run on the rear hub, and what's the largest sprocket that will fit on the front. just looking at it, i'm guessing that is 30/14 or 28/13. (i run 30/14, which is 55.7 gear inches, on my Black Market Mob). the bars look maybe 6.5"-ish (?)....
i like the 990 front brake with potts mod. i don't recall anybody else doing that on stock 26" bmx's. (although probably has been done as an option on a Fireman's).
the closest comparable complete is the Volume Hessian ($429), but the Hessian is not all-chromoly. The Hessian appears to have shorter chainstays at 15.75" (which is also what my Black Market MOB has). However, I've ridden dirt jumpers with both 15.75 cs and 16.25" cs and they both ride well. the Taj appears to have bb drop, like old school bmx 26"s and like modern 26" DJ bikes. I know that several years back Taj spent a little bit of time riding 4x/DJ bikes. i bet this bike performs great. It'll be interesting to see if anybody does a complete 26" BMX that has medium bb rise, like my friend Buddy Sardenga's custom Beelzebike by STOUT: http://cruiserrevolution.com/2012/10/26 … 20-666-er/
overall, it looks like a killer complete 26" BMX. maybe the best one out there.

Re: new 2014 Fairdale TAJ 26"
Cullen- wish I could just let you ride mine...
Rims = doo doo. Not comparable to anything Odyssey I have ever ridden. The hubs are also unsealed and on the lower end of the spectrum. I actually hated the axle nuts, I remember that from building up both my uncle and my Taj. And I think you would probably like a bit taller bars....knowing how you ride your shit. I also replaced the cranks on mine, but not out of need more out of want. I am shopping around for some 26" Sun rims and not sure what hubset I am going to replace the OEM ones with.
I am willing to bet this bike would be a hell of a lot of fun at the pump track. I jumped the box jump at my skatepark the other day...haha. My uncle only takes his out riding around the neighborhood with my aunt. His is still 100% stock and he loves it. So out of the box it is totally fine for cruising. But if you are trying to have a session on the Fly Out Circuit at Walnut the rims might get a bit squirmish on ya.

picked up a 2013 Weekender XL instead. LOVE IT! i'll be getting the skateboard rack and doing ditch & bowl tours
even did the bottle crate thing this weekend. this is CROSS-TRAINING for bmx, so it still counts, right!?
i kinda want to put Profile BMX cranks on it--and with a 6" spindle I'm sure I can do that (just like on my Black Market mtb's).... the thing I don't quite understand is geared chains vs. bmx sprockets. i understand 1/8" vs. 3/16" . . . but does anyone do a BMX-style sprocket for a geared chain??

Cullen, I have used some of the profile sprockets on my 1x geared bikes. The profile elite spline drives are the 3/32 and look awesome. I have a 45t laying around too if you want to try it out. Also, if you want to stick with the stock cranks you could run a profile Imperial. They are 3/32 as well
