Lied about what?
Earlier this year Skyway said that they were going to manufature an all new special 50th Anniversary Tuff Wheel with flanges, and they are now getting close to having them made.
At this point that, along with the photos I've shown, are all of the info that I have on this. I have no info on pricing, or on how many will be made. But as Skyway's official retail outlet, I do know that all of it will be sold through PlanetBMX. Obviously, an item that is coming with a year date engraved on it will be limited.

Re: Skyway's 50th Anniversary! Sneak peek pics inside!

As far as the 50 sets of 24" Graphites that Skyway made last year in October, those were made using new, old stock forged alloy Graphite flanges from the early 80's that were machined to fit a sealed bearing.

These new Anniversary marked wheels feature a Campy-style alloy flange that Skyway just made in-house. CNC machined, and then hand cut.  Totally different style than the 50 that were completed last year.

Re: Skyway's 50th Anniversary! Sneak peek pics inside!

Why flat black? I know you don't know, but why? It's the same frame with a different head tube. Thats the anniversary frame? Not shitting on ya just asking.... They couldn't think of anything better than this?

Kinda disappointing.......

That's what Ken at Skyway wanted to do.... I had no input on that.
I was given to opportunity to do something different, so we did the black with gold sparkle, which looks amazing in person.
The flat back is a bit more of a modern race look. Not particularly my style, but I know some people dig it......

Re: Skyway's 50th Anniversary! Sneak peek pics inside!

the frame color is actually fine. there's a lot you can do with a flat black frame. i'm just really not liking the "50" logo. the 5 looks nascarish and the 0 looks like a car wheel. i guess it could be a skyway but i dont think it was drawn correctly.

I hear ya... BUT!!!! 50 years and this is it? The only people the are gonna buy this is us old folks. Doesn't make sense....   I'm the target customer, and I ain't buying. Again not busting your balls, just Skyways thinking.

We all love Skyway for staying true to their roots, but don't offer a NEW frame as an anniversary frame.  Seems silly! lol
