I have no problem telling parents their kids look lame on a scooter and a bike or skateboard or both are what the Skate/BMX Parks were made for . The majority of these " Scooter Kids " are like 13-17 years old . They don't understand how a park flows , are all over the place and injure the shit out of people riding BMX or skating .

My son got hit in the head with a flying scooter and thankfully he was wearing his Bern helmet and was ok . The kid riding it was screwing around and lost it out of his hand . I picked the scooter up and threw it Incredible Hulk-style into the trees behind the skate park . lolcool

it's not just skateparks that are ruined by the damn things.  my internet searches for parts like "zero offset fork" keep turning up f**king scooter parts.

Because I put "BMX" in my scooter title thread? lol

Sidebar - Those vids and "zero offset fork" comment is hilarious.

Seriously though, scooter kids are taking over.

Not every scooter kid is an idiot, just 90%
If the kids parents ride or skate, the kids seem to have more respect at the park.

If that happens again throw it at his parents wink

KELOWNA, B.C. – It’s another case of everything old can be new again. The scooter is enjoying a revival among young athletes thanks to a better design. The Freestyle scooter is said to be gaining popularity over skateboards and BMX bikes?!?. As Doris Bregolisse reports, an Okanagan man is hoping to cash in on the trend as it takes off.

Well if it's on the internet it must be true! lollollol

Here comes Dew Tour and X-Games. Maybe the Olympics! hmmhmm tongue  lol

Re: Freestyle scooter said to be gaining popularity over skateboard & BMX?

I think it may only be gaining popularity over skateboards and bmx in Canada. I only see two or three at the most at KONA when we go, still see more rollerbladers than scooters. But I'm not going to hate, if you like riding it you like riding it, what does it matter what it is? I had a good time on my Zoot when I was a kid, it was something different to play on, still wasn't my favored ride.

yeah...but at least it had PNEUMATIC tires.  and some heft.  and when you threw it around for tricks, it didn't feel like you were trying to practice parkour at a skatepark.

actually the Amish in Lancaster have some pretty rad scooters. I've seen 20" and 24" scooters there. I'd like to show up to a skatepark on a 20" and really piss people off.

Honestly I really don't care , but when one of their idiot kids on a Scooter runs into a kid riding a bike or skating then I say something . I guess I should've emphasized that part . I don't go out of my way to start shit , but I'm not going to watch the Skate Scene I have been a  part of since 1988 in Cleveland , get ruined by goddamn Scooters . BMX / Skate community is 100% together on this . wink

That explanation sounds completely different than your original post.  I thought you seeing a scooter at a skate park sent you into "SUPER DICK MODE" (said with an echo announcer voice) lol  After reading above, you seem to just want people to pay attention so unnecessary collisions and injuries don't happen.  I would do the same thing.  cool

I also agree with this as well.

Re: Freestyle scooter said to be gaining popularity over skateboard & BMX?

LOL..yeah I can see how that looks and sounds . I'm a very friendly person but I constantly look out for people whether I'm skating or riding at Ray's MTB . I would never go up to a kid and give them a hard time because they ride a Scooter...unless they pull some dick-move or act like a complete 'tard . Last Summer I saw some bad collisions and 75% of them were Scooters flying through the air because someone lost control , or plain weren't paying attention .
