1981 Schwinn Scrambler

I bought this frame/fork from RCSNIPE2000 a while back. I think if you are going to have a BMX bike collection, you should have at least one Schwinn. I had one of these years ago, but I got rid of it to buy a power steering pump. I will be building it soon. UPDATE 3/19/2015- It is finished. I realize some of the parts do not make an exact color match, but I built it to look like I wanted it to look when I was 13. And, this is the first time I created my own decals, except for the seat tube decal, it's an original I bought from ebay. I had a California name plate on my Stingray, so it just seems fitting.

Re: 1981 Schwinn Scrambler

Decals were kind of a pain. I had to scan and then edit the decals in Windows Paint.

Re: 1981 Schwinn Scrambler

This is how mine looked for awhile...

I have since stolen the parts for a different Schwinn build and now it looks like this... For now...

I still need to submit this one to the museum...

Re: 1981 Schwinn Scrambler

That looks amazing for a 36 year old bike.

Re: 1981 Schwinn Scrambler

They are pretty cool frame sets... I am a big Schwinn fan, I own 11 altogether, 9 BMX and 2 multi-speed road bikes... I do love the way your Scrambler came out... VERY COOL!!!

Re: 1981 Schwinn Scrambler

I plan on getting another Scrambler, thinking about a red one or maybe purple. But I must get and old Stingray. I got my brother's Stingray and I rode that everywhere. Best wheelie bike ever.
