yea, just the guy to do it! keep tuning it and it will be way better

here's an ruff idea how to change/tune the MASTER LIST by years of frame design and then race vs. freestyle models serial for those years after:

1. 77-80 GT Frames - Most likely you won't find one with a serial number, including "Pedals Ready" (submit info if you have and it will be added to master serial list please, can be broken down by pics or links to ads/bikes)

2. 81-82 GT Frames - Serial # on inside of right rear dropout. 81-82 (81-83 and early 84s are considered Santa Ana (Award) Design):
They do not show an obvious 2 digit number. For Example: 52765 = 5 for the 5th month May. 2 for the year 82, number 765.
Under Serial number will be a model #: JR = Junior, 2=Expert (17.5" TT), 4 =PRO 18.5" Standard - measure top tube, if longer it is an ordered XL, - 24/26=Cruiser(Not sure of Letter Code_______?) Note: Skinny down tube and EURO BB applicable to these years.

3. 83-Early 84 GT Frames (considered Santa Ana (Award) Design)
They show an obvious 2 digit number. For Example: 083765 = ___________________________________(made up #)
Under Serial number will be a model #: JR = Junior, 3=Expert (17.5" TT), 4 =PRO 18.5" Standard - measure top tube, if longer it is an ordered XL, - 24/26=Cruiser(Not sure of Letter Code?)

4. 84-86 GT Frames - I'm crapping out here for the moment, but if you can break it down for race vs. freestyle starting around here and mix with what you have up now good?
7841112 with a model abreviation stamped nearby.(4, FS, I, M1, PE, XL, XXL, 24.....) 7 for the 7th month July. 84 for the year 1984. Same code in the 1990s as well.

If the serial is just like these on the rear dropout but without a model abreviation its still US made just not at Santa Ana.
7872459 without a model abreviation. 7 for the 7th month July. 87 for the year 1987.

For instance the FS stamp indicates you have a freestyle bike just doesnt specify what model. The race bikes made there in the later years are indeed very specific, PE=Pro Expert, XL=Pro Team extra long frame, 24=24" Pro Cruiser, M1=Mach One, I=Interceptor etc...

yes, the FS is what i meant and the MI, PE for race according to years.

Bakersfield, about 100 miles north of LA. You know what, after another look at your serial it probably is a 85 model. That pr. # looks too high to be an early 86.

Well from 87-96 all Pro Series are US made just like the Pro Freestyle bikes. Mach Ones and Interceptors from the 80s have the same 18.5" top tube as the basic Pro Series. There is the L4 which where typically an extra inch long Pro frame. I believe in 87 they started the updated model abreviations(PE, XL, XXL, M1, I....) in Santa Ana. In the 90's the sizes started to vary more.

90's GT Mach One and Pro Series specs
84-96 The Mach One's have an 18.5"tt.
97-98 The Mach One's have a 20"tt.
99-00 The Mach One's have a 20.5"tt.
89-92 The Pro Series Expert have an 18.5"tt, Pro Series XL had a 19.5"tt and Pro Series XXL had a 20.5"tt.
93-96 The Pro Series Expert have a 19.5"tt and the Team model or XL stamped frame had a 20.5"tt.
98 the Pro Series have a 20.5"tt.
99/00 the Pro Series XL Plus have a 20.91"tt.

From 84-86 the PS, M1 had the the same frame. I have seen Mach Ones and Interceptors stamped with a 4  and I guess since they had the same frame specs as the normal Pro frame that they used the same Pro frames they used to build Pro Series on them. I guess its more than likely that only the L4 frames in the mid 80's were all US made. Where as the late 85-86 standard 4 Pro frames were also made in Japan. You just dont see the 4 stamp on them, different serials. You also wont see any of these abreviation stamps on a Huntington beach model.

Early 80's GT Santa Ana Handlebars Specs
Looks like they made 5 versions of the early GT bars.
Expert bars reg   6.75"rise  27.5"width (bars in one of my pictures)
Expert bars wide  6.75"rise  29"width  (lots of reference available for these bars)
Pro bars             7.75"rise  27.5width(bars in my pictures and that 280hpwrx also has 3 of)
Big Pro bars        8.75"rise  29"width(these are what you have and TYLER DERDEN knows about)
Big Big Pro bars    10"rise   29"width(these are the bars you and TrulyodD know about)

OK I looked but didnt see the serial number on my 91 pft, just the FS on the drop out, the powder is pretty thick but can clearly see the FS...maybe on the inside????
was also looking at a 92 mini that had M I I on the drop.

No scraping on this PFT for sure... Ill take another look, maybe need wear my sun glasses since the neon yellow powder is so bright........ And correction, that mini had a M1 M stamp. makes sense the second M is for Mini......

They must have used the wrong stamp on it, they typically have a 4 or L4. Really means nothing unless you have a Performer frame thats stickered as a Pro Series lol.
