Re: The 2014 Line of SE Bikes for BMX Museum Viewers!

cool

I try to limit myself to only 3 new SE retros per year.

So far...

1- The SE/SC Big Ripper

2- The 20" looptail Quad. I own every 20" retro Quad SE has done, and this one is a no brainer.

What will take the number 3 spot?

Will I need to raise my limit?

I guess I'll find out by the time this thread plays out.

Capt. Nemo- I am pretty sure that I know what #3 will be for you this year. But it won't be an easy choice....

Geometry changes?  Why is there going to be so few available in the US?

Re: The 2014 Line of SE Bikes for BMX Museum Viewers!

-The LiL' Ripper is yellow for 2014. It looks fresh. And for the first time, comes with LiL' Retro pads. Photos will be posted within a week.

-The geometry of the Quad Loop will be the same as 2010. But with a 21" top tube. We limit many of our limited edition bikes to 250 into the USA. It's a good number so that we do not over=produce, but yet keeps the bikes special.

I'm going to try to post a bike a day for the next month. I may miss a day or two here & there, but one a day is my goal!

Ok, on to the next bike! The Ripper. This bike is in our mid-level category with an MSRP of $329. New this year is race graphics under the clear coat as well as alloy cranks & an alloy micro-adjust seatpost. At 22.1lbs, it's nearly a pound lighter than last year. Perfect bike for the new racer on the track or through the neighborhood. Available in 2 colors. Mind you, these are pre-production photos when we were getting the bikes ready for the catalog photoshoot. So that's why the end caps are missing.

Re: The 2014 Line of SE Bikes for BMX Museum Viewers!

Thanks for info about the geometry.  If you can, point out differences from years past like the top tube length increase and the weight difference on the Ripper.  Keep 'em coming! smilecool

Re: The 2014 Line of SE Bikes for BMX Museum Viewers!

BTW, you should ad at least one photo of the Big Ripper to this thread with a link to the other thread in case there are some that missed the pics.

Edit for grammar

My boy took a 3rd and a 1st at his first-ever National on his bone stock 2012 Ripper Jr.  Great bike for the money.  Keep up the good work, Todd!

The key word is "try".

But from the sounds of it, I doubt I'll succeed.

Re: The 2014 Line of SE Bikes for BMX Museum Viewers!

Next up, our collaboration bike with Santa Cruz Skateboards. The Santa Cruz Big Ripper! This bike is so badass....

Here's a write-up and photos:

In honor of Santa Cruz Skateboard's 40 Year Anniversary, SE Bikes has teamed up with Santa Cruz to offer a one-of-a-kind collaboration bike. The 29in  Santa Cruz x SE Big Ripper bike features the iconic Screaming Hand blue colorway with the Speed Wheels Face graphic on the head tube, Screaming Hand shading elements scattered on the frame, the SC logo stamped in the rear dropout, a Santa Cruz 40 Year Anniversary logo embossed seat, and a padset featuring custom SE Hand  logos drawn by Jim Phillips.

This bike also comes with a limited edition Santa Cruz x SE Screaming Hand skate deck (7.5in  x 31in ). The deck features a custom SE Hand decktop graphic drawn by the legendary Jim Phillips with the classic Santa Cruz Screaming Hand design on the bottom. This bike will also come with three unique collector’s edition stickers: Santa Cruz 40 Year Anniversary logo, the SE Hand  logo drawn by Jim Phillips, and the Speed Wheels Face sticker featured on the head tube. This project is rad beyond belief.
