1988 Redline RL-20II
1988 Redline RL-20II
** SOLD **
I got this complete, survivor condition on ebay. It was really not in all the bad of shape, and was nice, so I could keep it as original as possible. The person told be it was their pride and joy and they are the original owner. The serial number is R87#######, and with the matchin decals (mango color lettering with the mango color scheme as well), makes it an early 88 model. It had the early parts on it, like the Araya 7X style rims with the Redline hubs, but I put the mid-late Araya ADX concave rims with Redline hubs on it. I just so happened to have another set, and they are rare. It had the Surgino one piece cranks, that snapped their crank welded arm sprocket stopper (I don't know what you call it??). This was a known issue with these cranks, and that is with the mid-late 88 RL's stopped using them and when to a solid one piece cranks. I added the Redline 401's regardless. It is a bike that I always looked at in the 1988 catalog, and dreamed about. They should the mango color for the 1988 RL-20B model though, and the Kiwi for the RL-20II. My friend and I always joked on the name of the colors.

Yeah, if I had everthing, I would be poor. Everything I have, was in some way bought from what I sold. I, in no way, have lots of money. I can show bills though!

This bike is sooo pretty in person. The pics do it no justice, Stephen.

Nice. I thought I had already drooled over all the nice RL-20IIs here but missed all yours. Must be your name that threw me.

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20II
All the information about this bike was given to you on the FB Redline page, are you not seeing the replies? It's an 88 400c or 600cxl and will need to measure the top tube. The bike was probably stripped completely and painted white and your going to have to search hard and wide for decals.
