1981 Laguna Cruiser 26

Third generation rider...in the family for over 30 years.

My dad bought this bike around 1981 from Lester's bike shop in Manomet Massachusetts. This was his daily rider to the Atlantic Ocean to take a dip in the cool water (only in the Summer). My sister lost her two front teeth when Pops gave her ride back from the beach and her flip flop got stuck in the front wheel...you know what happened next!

My dad moved to Eastern North Carolina about 7 years ago and the Laguna went with him. It was left outside under cover and again ridden to the beach. A few years ago, I was at his place and started getting interested in this beauty. I told him I was looking to take her off his hands but it did not go anywhere. Another year and another trip and he helped my son and I dismantle and ship home to Florida.
We then stripped the old paint off (my dad had painted it but it had gotten pretty rough) and she sat for another year. Well, I finally had some time and my son and I had it powdered and then put her back together.
Some of the parts are new...most are original. None of it was work. It was a great bonding experience for father and son. I wish I could have seen my dad's face when he saw the pics in his in box. When I ride this beauty, I can't help but smile. The next 30 years on this are going to be awesome!
