So, back in my younger riding days, I used to disconnect the front brakes while I was riding trails.  Then one day, this piece must have fallen out and I never found it:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/514 … fc05_z.jpg

So I recently tried to fabricate one out of a piece of hollow threaded rod I had laying around.  This was while I was test fitting it before I trimmed it:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/514 … bc2e_k.jpg

It works, but I'm kicking myself for not getting an ABS brake kit from a Haro dealer back in the early 2000s when they were probably less than $15.  Anyone happen to have one of the original pieces in their parts bin?

I have some originals I'm going to have a machine shop replicate cause I have a few sets missing those pieces too

No but I think I can assist w/a black nuke ring...

Man, dan's comp blew out chrome supras at one point for like $100. I bought 2 and sold 'em. I will bet you they are out there still though!
The blowout priced bashguard sports they sold NOS are still popping up from time to time, still wrapped

Hell yea! I forgot all about that thing.

FU - that's how I got mine long ago. I think they were like 130 or 150 from them with straight shooter fork. That was my first legit, not crappy low end model frame I built up. Over got my eyes peeled for another. Don't need nos just dented up.

Look into chrome 99 supra sx as they had the same serial and frame as a dlx

I had a blowout price Haro Ultra.  Bought it in '96 I think?  Frame, Fork, front brake, stem and seatpost for something like $169.  Only catch was it was painted black over chrome, and the chrome wasn't treated.  A factory mistake, I assume.

I’ve been thinking about doing that as well. My 3 year old daughter “helped” me do my Warhawk Flair about a year ago and now she wants to pick the color of this one haha so far I’ve been told Purple, Pink, and Green lol

Switched up the brakes on the tribute yesterday to the white AD-996 with the upgraded springs and Odyssey Slim by Four black pads. Much better braking and gets rid of the shit stock Hombre in the rear…

Still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on the Mirra tribute. I've been buying parts in the event a white one pops up someday. I take it the 996 has a lower stack height plus better rebound on the lever? Looking good as always.

Thank you sir 😎 I’m still keeping an eye out for the black lineage nuke sprocket. I needed to do something with the hombre and I never cared for the Dia Compe brake pads so I made the move on these and I think it looks way better and performs much better.

It’s been a while this is how my Mid-School Haro's ended up. Master King and Queen and my 540 it needs a mega nuke to be completed.

I just got this Zippo frame from a member here. Thinking I'll swap all the parts from a 98 group 1 RI. Like the original look of these so thinking either zippo blue or yellow with new decals.
stripped it down for the powder coater (they blast it but saves them time and me money)
