Those are not mongoose forks but they are very rare set of nickel Speedos! I have a set on my 79 Patterson Pro

This should be the official mantra of the museum.

Rad story , amazing find . I'm sure Gary Turner himself would probably want this bike for his personal collection , because it's so nice . This is the type of thing that happens maybe once in a lifetime and it seems to have happened to a decent dude . cool

Re: 1979 Gary Turner survivor SCORE

That's a great find. I had essentially the same bike that I bought used in either 1978 or 1979 from the Recycler in Pasadena, CA. I rode it until I sold it to a friend since I thought I was done with BMX. I've been regretting that for a while now. If I'm not mistaken mine had black lettering, but did not say BMX after his name. I had mine tricked out with blue parts as well. I'm glad to see that these are still out there.

Chop it into a pit and you'll be the only person in the world to own one !
Then in later yrs you can always resell it for a trillion Lira.

Oh right, the Lira is no longer has any moetary value tongue

That's a banger (don't change a thing).

Looks great as-is and as such, I agree 98%.

I'd clean, scrub the rust off the chain, re-lube and remove the lock, but I would leave the parts on the set-up.
