1983 Hutch Pro Star

I've had a few PM to ask if it's for sale.  The answer is that everything is for sale at the right price.  If you're serious, PM me.

This is an Original Pro Star and NOT just a built up, re-stickered Pro Racer.  When I bought this, it was 85% complete.  It just needed a cleaning and a couple of parts that were swapped off at some point.  Previous owner had swapped stem, chainring, and tires.  It was missing the plate, pads, and brake.  Correct parts were swapped and missing parts were added to make this a catalog correct late 1983 (123xxxx serial) Pro Star.  It has all original decals on everything.  No repop decals anywhere.  The chrome is beautiful and only one pencil tip size ding in the chainstay.  Aerospeeds, bars, post, etc. are original to the bike.

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Star

Top notch, man.

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Star

Couldn't imagine this pro-star gettin much better than that. Truly a bad machine. Could never own one unless it felt into my lap. Much dollars.$$$$$$. Just have to settle on maxing out my rider trickstar which is about half way completed. Still a lot of $ went into it   . Anyway, beautiful pro-star.  Would b my grail bike

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Star

Absolutely awesome bike, loved Hutch's since I first laid eyes on them back in the mid 80's before I event started racing, and 38 was my old race number too.
