Haha...looks like you have been burning the midnight oil Mike.....and the pay-off is tremendous.

The "Track Certified" drop shadow looks off.  Looks thick on letter "tifi"  Maybe increase the drop shadow so the other letters match?

Good work!

Re: So who's the decal master?

All the drop shadow across the words is slightly off. The correct way to do it is to take the letters in the front and copy/paste them to the back and offset to match originals, then create connector lines to the letters in the front creating the 45Ëš angle of the drop shadow originals big_smile

Re: So who's the decal master?

Yeah i realize it still needs a bit of work, just banged them out during lunch yesterday. I was working off photos of originals. To be honest the originals don't have the best drop shadow, so it all depends if you want the drop shadow correct to the eye, or match up to old decals.

Re: So who's the decal master?

Well remember that there is distortion of the decals unless you have them flat when scanned

Re: So who's the decal master?

It looks like there's space between those letters on the originals.  But the way mtbwrxwagon described is the way to go unless the software has a good plug-in.

That's the way I do it to make it look correct, not that what you have looks bad. I was just mentioning it.

I can see the points made, but took everyone pointing it out for my eyes to catch it. There is some real serious graphics discussion going on. Way! above my knowledge of programming....Still looks stellar wink

Re: So who's the decal master?

Well, I tweaked it a bit after reviewing all the suggestions. This is a bit closer but still not 100% correct. It is pretty hard to get it right on by visually referencing a decal applied on a bike from a photo. Since none of  the pictures we straight dead on there was some distortion to deal with. Without a scan of an original this is about as close as I could freehand it, and I still see ways it could improve.

Anyways if work is slow tomorrow, I will see if I can bang out the other ones real quick.

Re: So who's the decal master?

The font actually looks like Helvetica Extra Bold, which would give you the top of the "f" and whatnot. Of course that's just me guessing. it could be Futura but I'm pretty sure its Helvetica.

Here's what I did real quick with the font. Just didn't connect the edges to show the connected block style as in decals. I actually used Helvetica Black w/custom slant.

After looking at it again, it isn't this font but real close. The "r" & "a" are a little off.

Looks good!! The font is a little off (it's darnitall close), the corners need to be rounded, and the spacing between the letter needs to be tweaked, and then you have it nailed!!

Re: So who's the decal master?

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm also looking for some decals for my Redline techmatic bottom brackets.  I'm not looking for anything factory, I actually want them in pink with chrome lettering to match what I have on the crank arms.

Re: So who's the decal master?

I am trying to get a printer/die cutter combo because it is really difficult to get stuff printed. I am looking at the Silhouette Cameo Die Cutter. The Circuts, I found out will print only their shapes, nothing else. Does anyone have any experience with one of these units??

Re: So who's the decal master?

I don't know if any of you guys are still looking for these decals or any decal recreation. I was recently contacted to redraw the decals for a 1981 Murray. This is what I have so far. I am still waiting for a picture and measurements of the head tube decal.
http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww229/SeaJayEmm/team%20murray.jpg

These are redraws for 1 of my personal bikes. 1987 Raleigh Shock. Still need to do the fork and handle bar decals.

If anybody needs any decals redrawn hit me up, I love doing this kind of stuff.

Re: So who's the decal master?

Looking for someone to make a full set for early 90s Detour.

Ive found a couple restored bikes on hear, and ive attempted messaging to see where they had theirs made. No luck on anyone getting back to me.

Since Photobucket sucks I can't host images anymore without a $400 donation. He is a link to what I have. Yellow lettering and white hand prints.

Ive contacted several local graphics places, and they cant do white ink on clear material because it not solid enough. basically blue will show through any white...

So here I am. Obviously ready to PayPal for something if someone can help. Thanks- Greg

So heres my attempt, done in word,  this stuff is not quick or easy without proper software.   Ill share the file if anyone wants it,  far from perfect, but home computer friendly.  Colors would be pretty easy to change.

After this experiment,  my respect for graphics folks went up even more.

Re: So who's the decal master?

Just throwing my hat in the ring...

I can do them if you want.
I normally charge $40/50 for a full set that I haven't done before depending on complexity and $10 for a customization of one already done. I'm hoping to be able to put ALL of them on a flash drive and offer them to previous customers for s/h charges sometime next year. I have done probably 45 different sets so far and maybe 20 random logos. Would like to see the work survive and be passed along to those who need it. I am running out of free time with the kiddos getting older and more into sports so I am not that fast, but I can assure you that my work is spot on.
