^^^ Thanks for posting that Jay, the history of Homeless Bikes would be lost in time were it not for you. cool The photo of your Mack by the paint can is probably my most viewed BMX pic. What an awesome bike, and the information on your blog makes clear what a pivotal role Homeless played in the evolution of BMX. Hope ya can steer this thread correct in future posts. smile

Re: <<< The Homeless Shelter >>> Homeless Bikes Thread!!!

I wish I could take credit for all the info on the blog site but it was a group contibution to put it all together. Lee Sultemeier has been great with alot of small details especiall the gen 2 Homeless stuff. Thanks for the props on my pic, I love that bike. Even though the riding scenes turned into sub cultures all over the USA and the world at the time, companies like Homeless, S&M and many others lead us into the world of soul and style based riding. It wasnt what you and your bike looked like, it was what you could do on it that counted. I will do my best to answer any questions as they arrise here. cool

Hope it was a member here. Was expecting more Pornstars, Players, and second Gen Macks to show up, have no idea how many were produced, though.

Great thread and some extremely nice hardware.

Another Homeless fan here from across the pond; I've slimmed down my collection from four to two:

Couple of the coolest Macks on the site, or anywhere for that matter. Great example of how they likely would have been set up, as well. Dig those homemade pegs! cool

Help out Sheps! If a bunch of people see a mess of five dollar donations on that site they are that much more likely to help out. I know, I know... Nobody is gonna put up a "fundme" site if I get hurt on my bike but I've never contributed to the bmx community like James Shepherd. If you've ever gotten stoked watching 'highway to hell'  or 'trash'  you owe him a little  something.

Sheps rules! On both sides of the downtube of my favorite bike ('93 Mack) it says, " James Shepherd Pro Model." Exactly 20 years later he still rides hard enough to sustain those types of severe injuries? What a Badass! yikescool Please help out if ya can:  http://www.gofundme.com/3i4udc
