1998 Royce Union Freestyler

Anyone else have a royce? POST IT

I found this one abandoned in a back alley and put it to some good use. It came witha bucnh of generic annodized blue parts but the frame is bitchin' with some sweet landing gear rip-off forks. No one else seems to want to post there royce or either no one has one. I'd love to see others like this because as of now this is the only one I've seen.
Just because you coul buy it at Kmart doesn't mean its not RAD!!!

I used to have one of those when I was younger. First bmx bike but my parents got rid of it because I got taller. Man I miss that bike.

It does look cool. I have an older RU Performer. It is getting a good polishing. Thanks for coaxing it out. I'll set up some pics soon.

It/'s pretty awesome too. For a department store bike the chrome and construction is phenomenal. The welds are clean and the frame is rock solid. LOVIN" THE ROYCE!

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

I have the same bike. My older brother bought it in the year 2000 for dirt cheap and was brand new.He used it for about 5 months until he popped the tire and never thought of repairing it. I have got new tires for it and works great. I think the frame is bad ass looking. I still have the original stickers on it. I"ll post some pictures of it really soon.

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

I just picked up my first Royce Union today, I'll post pics soon, know nothing about it aside from the fact that I paid more than it was worth, but I sorta felt bad for the guy.   Oh well. $46 for a complete bike isn't horrid.

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

I picked up a Royce Union FS360 Twisted today along with a specialized fatboy to boot. The guy wanted $10 for the Fatboy. I was really eyeing the Royce Union and he says "buy the Fatboy for $10 and I'll throw in that old bike for free". Deal! I put a GT seat on it and rode around for an hour when I got home. Probably give the Fatboy to one of my sons friends after I swipe the Primo pedals, red Mx1 brakes & Alex Y2000 wheels off it. I'll get some pics up of the RU when she's all shined up.

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

I have a late 90s Royce Union coming to me this week. I'm not sure what condition it is in. Would anybody be interested? If so, would you want it as-is, a roller, or a complete?

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

looks like a t-18   picked one up on ebay last week for $23 complete - dirty but complete, everything is in great shape.

Your bike was the reason for my restore - looks great.  Mine is chrome with purple ano. The wheels are total crap 48's (welded seam) but the hubs appear to be better, fat and look good  - Husky is the name on the hubs ??  I willpost it when finished.

Some thoughts - It's a heavy booger , like torker heavy,  the parts are all knockoff copies, and my friends think that I am an idiot for restoring it.   I am going to remove the decals - just chrome and purple

Re: 1998 Royce Union Freestyler

Thanks man. It is a fun ride! GT decals sound like a good idea, I thought about doing the same with this one. Post it when you get it! Me and some other fellas have really grown the "hype" on the RU's in the museum.
