Hutch PRO STAR Unboxed! - WOW! Thanks Tortuga!

I just got done unboxing the Pro Star that I bought last weekend from Tortuga.  First of all, it was shipped FAST and WELL PACKED!  I haven't been excited buying and opening a bike since my first year of collecting.  This one matched that feeling for sure.  There is no doubt that this is an original Pro Star.
Tortuga picked this "score" up a couple days prior to selling it and never cleaned, polished, or had anything apart.  The Aerospeed crank bolts were really tight when I untightened them, which was a GREAT SIGN - UNCRACKED OG SPINDLE!  Another big surprise was that the Ti Mag hubs still have the original star washers on them.  And.....  The rear seems like it was never adjusted.  Just a single washer mark on the dropout.
I saw the pics when he sold it and was pretty sure that what I saw in pics was just grease and dirt.  I was right.  This one will polish up really nicely!  The OG decals are pretty good as well.  The downtube has the early single star on it.  From what I read, it's a late 1983 from the serial that starts with 123****.  \
Tortuga greatly understated this when he sold it.  I couldn't be happier with what I got here!  It's about 80% complete.  When I start this one, I will be looking for an original deep H stem, chainring, Comp 4 tires, and pads.  I will be keeping this one all OG with NO refinish, polishing, etc.  Just a good cleaning and all OG nice used parts.  Then, like everything I've had, I'll end up selling it.  Here's pics:

I guess only the kid who swapped it off 30 years ago only knows the answer to that one.  He probably knows where the pads, plate, and Rad Kaps are as well.

Re: Hutch PRO STAR Unboxed! - WOW! Thanks Tortuga!

Can anyone shed some light on:
1 - I read that Titanium spokes came on these.  Is this true?  How can I verify?
2 - I also read that Hutch labeled Comp 4's came on these.  I understand that these are near impossible to find.  Would regular Comp 4's be era correct here?
3 - The cranks don't have the size engraved in like all other Aerospeeds that I've seen.  Would  180's have come on this bike?

Just curious, what is the top tube length on these?

Regarding the spokes, I don't think Ti can rust? I know it can oxidize a bit, but pretty sure it doesn't rust?

Re: Hutch PRO STAR Unboxed! - WOW! Thanks Tortuga!

No to TI spokes, they would tarnish the hubs horribly as TI and aluminum are not friends.

The Hutch Comp IV's are stupid hard to find.  They only came in 1.75.  Regular Comp IV's would be perefect

Re: Hutch PRO STAR Unboxed! - WOW! Thanks Tortuga!

From what I remember they didn't come with Ti spokes.  That's the first I've heard of that.  The cranks should for sure be 180's from the factory.  It would have also come with Hutch label tires as well.  Great looking bike.  I wouldn't mind having one myself, but then I would have to get rid of something else to make room.....

180's and stainless steel spokes ... In the 80's I had a Black Pro Racer I built into a "Pro Star" replica (minus the stickers) and I had followed all the parts used on a real Pro Star back then, except the crappy HUTCH blister causing grips

LOOKING FOR :
Mid to Late 90's Race stuff  20 & 24"
Standard Bykes Race parts & f/f
Profile Racing chain tensioners in DK Gold (mid school ones)

I got 4800.00 for mine that was in 2007, I don't even want to know what you spent on this one it would probably shock us all!

Just want to let everyone know, when I list something for sale PLEASE ready the description completely and follow the directions so there isn’t any issues! When members call dibs and then disappear it holds the item up for someone who is ready to purchase said item.

Yes, this is the one.

Thanks for the answers to my questions.  Next question - Stem related.  I understand that it would have a Deep H.  Did these come in chrome?  If so, would this bike have had a chrome or ano silver stem?
