1989 Mongoose M-1

My Retro-Modded M1

Just got this from"norelk98"... These bikes were pretty boring stock, so I had to sweeten her up a little with some sweet old-skool ACS Z-Rims laced to ACS hubs, a new light blue KMC Z chain and Wellgo nylon pedals, blue brake cable and Kenda Kontact bluewall tires (to match the decals), an unknown CR-MO 3 pc. crankset from "Blackdiamonds", SWEEEEETTTT blue bars from "Blackdiamonds", black Big Cheese 44t chainring from "Smoopy's", Sugino stamped spider, Primo seat post clamp, a Kalin CR-MO drainpipe seat post, Tioga old-skool headset, a sealed bottom bracket, custom finished white Mongoose fork lifter stem, ODI grips and 8-Ball valve stem caps... ThanXXX for looking!!! PLEASE COMMENT!!!

Yeah, the chrome is in AWESOME shape for being almost 25 years old... If I ever decide to get rid of the Z-Rims, I will let you know first, I wouldn't hold my breath though, I LOVE my Z-Rims... ThanXXX Again for the GREAT deal on this ride!!! It turned out KILLER!!! WAY BETTER THAN I EXPECTED!!!

Re: 1989 Mongoose M-1

ritchie, this is a nice m1.  Its a very underrated bike.  I love riding my m1 more than my cali.  the m1 is a lesser bike but put some sugino 3 pc cranks and some zrims and you will understand.  nice job buddy!

I love the zrims.  they crackle sometimes as you ride.  I have an 83 red californian. its all stock except for the matthauser brake pads.  The orig rims are good but the braking surface is all bumpy.  I cant get my rear brake nice and tight like how it is on the zrimms.  anyone have some red zrims for this 83 cali?

I have since changed a few things on this... I keep upgrading it as parts become available... I now have black Salt CR-MO 175mm cranks w/ a black Origin-8 alloy powerdisc and a 45T alloy polished Pro-Neck chainring...
