Beautiful!  The $ you paid was well worth it.  Those cranks are gorgeous, the whole bike is a time capsule, leave the thing be and I hope you find the tires u want or I would even go for Comp II's!

We need some outside shots when weather and time permit....wink

Re: Early Hutch Pro Racer with First Generation Cranks (Lots of photos)

Frame does not look to be a Profile-made frame. Blank brake bridge and no 'birds mouth' at the rear axle slots leads me to think it's a Speed Unlimited frame.

As long as I'm here, it doesn't matter where 'here' is.

That is awesome-what is the sn on the back of the cranks?  smile

Re: Early Hutch Pro Racer with First Generation Cranks (Lots of photos)

The only thing not original to the crankset are the washers/spacers...early sets had black anno spacers but that set is AMAZING....and the spider is only machined on 1 side....great stuff.

Re: Early Hutch Pro Racer with First Generation Cranks (Lots of photos)

Not going to lie...I'm jealous! That thing is OUTSTANDING (especially those cranks) I would definitely leave it as original as possible. Glad it got in the hands of somebody that has respect for keeping it old school. 2nd dibs big_smile Congrats! Post that baby up so I can FAV IT!

Thanks! I was very pleased to find that the spider was original to the set! Three of the spacers were bigger and have an odd offset hole as you can see in the photo, I sort of feel that they were original to the set just judging by the condition the cranks are in.

Nope- those offset washers are NOT original to the set-Profile also made early 2nd gen cranks that are Identical to those arms EXCEPT they have the decal indent and were issued with black anno machined spacers in varying widths.  Later spacers for 3rd gens were not annoed and just punched out-not nearly as nice.  Those other spacers were probably replacements as the OG ones were maybe lost.

Everything is OG as I know it from my research.

Re: Early Hutch Pro Racer with First Generation Cranks (Lots of photos)

Happy this thread has a much more positive tone than the other one smile

I am about as far away from a "Hutch Guy" as you can get, but even I appreciate the importance and beauty of that rig. Congrats on the killer pick up.
