I can't read through all these pages...in a nutshell (and correct me if I'm wrong), 22's have: egg shaped tires that are a pain to mount, tire and chainring clearance issues, and some crap rim and tire choices. Do guys generally like the way they ride?? I've been interested in these from the beginning, but seems like they have some kinks to work out.

Re: 22's Go Here

Yeah a while ago, but they have gotten better.  Indust have been making the frames for a while now and I haven't had any problems. Now you can buy chrome welded revenge wheels that are decent for cheap and the best tires are the factions so far.

Re: 22's Go Here

I never had problems with either of my Holmes. Just my Standard had issues with tire clearance.

Re: 22's Go Here

I've had tire issues since day one on my 22s. I switched from the Holmes to an ATF. I've had  problems with the factions and the innovas.
I don't ride my 22 much, but when I do, a tire and/or a tube well probably blow.
I've been thinking of getting rid of it but am still waiting on a proven tire to come out

Re: 22's Go Here

I've ridden my factions with ARC rims on my ATF a lot and the only time I had an issue is when I ran over a giant piece of glass and got a flat. I threw a new tube in it and a small patch on the inside of the tire and rode another 15-20 street miles that day. Otherwise I've had zero issues and I've had it at Rays a few times and taken plenty of stair sets and decent sized drops on the street too.

Re: 22's Go Here

No issues with my ATF, the Revenge rims or the Faction tires. I do, however, want a dirt-friendly tread, so I'm waiting on the Mainline tires. The Faction frame needed a 6" Profile spindle for me to dial-in the chain alignment and get proper crank-arm clearance. The Stout frame that I got from Skubasteve has performed with zero issues.

You should've read through a little more. Beside some people having tire and brake clearance issues, most of the stuff you listed is false. I personally have a Holmes with the Faction tires, Revenge rims and EVO II's with the back wheel slammed and still have enough clearance to rid... and it rides great.

That being said, I am planning on getting a 22" ATF frame and eventually the new 22" Mainlines (if they ever come out) to replace the Factions since I'll be mostly for riding dirt with it.

I got home today and opened my Revenge brakes Joe sent me and just knew they wouldn't fit but they do.....

The 22" mainline tire I have looks smaller than my Faction

I'll never ride a 20" again, 22" bikes are way faster and less twitchy than 20's, but although more stable not any less maneuverable (like a 24).  I have ridden various 22"s for well over a year now and never had a single flat (knock on wood).  The mainlines are great tires, factions and pirahnas are sufficient and innovas are absolute trash, too skinny for a front and somehow manage to stay spongy even when pumped rock solid.  If you decide to pick up a 22 (with good tires), you won't be disappointed.

Re: 22's Go Here

^ I tend to think of maneuverability as also a function of geometry.  A NS 22" is going to feel very nimble compared to OS 20".  Twitchiness too.

I won't pretend to fully understand why, but for given geometry, the 22 feels more nimble to me.

E.g. my 2-ton feels a lot more like my old 20 inch ATF than my barcode, even though the Geo is closer to the barcode.

Its currently with my brother in Pittsburgh,  ill get him to send me some.  I rode it for about a month until I decided to order a custom holmes then he rode it for a month before building a longer custom as well, we're both over 6' and the 21.5"tt doesnt cut it.  Its basically new, no dents or scratches as far as i know.  Ill try and get some pics up in the next few days.

Re: 22's Go Here

A few more scratches than when I had her, but I only ride dirt... looks like mostly little scratches from tossing it in and out of a pickup with other bikes, a few from the cable hanger, and a scrape on the chainstays from a missed feeble.  Still in overall good condition, perfect with a new paint job.  If no one wants to trade an ATF, ill probably just ebay it. http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy145/Jesushasamyspace/Mobile%20Uploads/Screenshot_2014-04-23-08-59-09-1.pnghttp://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy145/Jesushasamyspace/Mobile%20Uploads/Screenshot_2014-04-23-08-58-57-1.png

Re: 22's Go Here

I have a potential buyer for your Amero, 22lyfe (if the trade doesn't work-out for you). He is a member of the Museum and a local from my home track. I'll give him a heads-up.

Awesome, I was considering just grabbing an ATF from S&M later this week and it would be nice to avoid the hassle of ebay.  I was thinking $250 frame and fork shipped.

Check this link in the WTB section, it's from the same guy I mentioned in the earlier post.
