Here's a 24" We The People Avenger with 22" wheels in it. Not bad for a frankenbike. ;)

Re: 22's Go Here

I'm new to this thread.  Quick question.  How successful have people been with putting 22" on a 20" frame/fork?  Some of the older-school frames certainly had the CS length for it, but I'm curious.

Re: 22's Go Here

The frame geometry would be way off with a 20" frame and 22" fork. But long rear ends and skinny tire it could be possible

Re: 22's Go Here

I was thinking more like a long-leg 20" fork & a skinny tire.

Re: 22's Go Here

how easy is it to mod the bosses to work with a 22" rim?

Cut old mounts off, weld new ones on.  But still, with a 20" frame, the 22" fork is raising the front end by an inch.  The bottom bracket will feel weirdly high and the steering will be a little off. Not a great project, IMO.  People did it a few years ago just to see....

Not as easy as buying a used Holmes frame and fork. Which, if you're truly interested in a 22" BMX, is a great (and cheaper) place to start... if you can find one that is.

Re: 22's Go Here

So would a zero-offset dropout help to alleviate some of that additional "rake" induced by a 22" fork?  And are we really talking about a full 1" taller if we're also running a 22" out back?

I'm just kicking around ideas here.  Finding 22" rims that I like is an impossible task....so far.

Revenge ARC rims are pretty good quality, I think they're about $55 each. You can buy a set of chrome completes with heavy stock hubs for about $200 a set. Check ebay, cheapgoodsbmx.com, brobmx or someone else who sells in the museum.

Re: 22's Go Here

The BB height on the modified 20" Holmes that I rode was 13". I adapted to it pretty quickly, but I also had to switch to a front-load stem to offset the chopper-like effect of the 22" forks on a 20" frame. The brake bracket was moved, so a caliper brake could be used ( I later went from sidepulls to Odyssey Bulldogs, for improved braking). I still have the frame with the Bulldogs and 19mm American BB, if anyone is interested in it. The headtube is a traditional press-fit 1 1/8" and the rear dropouts are 3/8".

Re: 22's Go Here

That brown and black is sick.  I just finished my Amero a couple days ago.  I will post pics tomorrow.  I love it so far.  It feels so different.  Most likely it's my ass that's the different part lol.   I love it

Re: 22's Go Here

Small, I'm 5'7" with a gimp right arm that doesn't open all the way from a bad motorcycle wreck.  So i have to make do with smaller bars to adjust for that.  I never did measure them, but 8" rise i'm pretty sure.

I've drooled over their site so many times already too.  I thought I saw your seat posted on the site.   Whatever you paid,  was so worth the price.   Perfect combo with the Color.
