Re: What were Dyno VFR's used for?

They were an all-around bike when they came out hence the name VFR(vertical, freestyle, race).

I find it somewhat off putting, that on a site whose main purpose is the preservation of BMX history. The mass hate on a vintage entry level bike? To some out there the VFR is their first taste of riding / racing. There are plenty of bikes, both high and low end that I am not a fan of. However I wouldn't trash them on a forum. Just some food for thought. cool

Well played sir!

Re: What were Dyno VFR's used for?

in the mid 90s when my friends were really into trails and i was really into riding street, i used to hate going to the trails because my rims and freewheel and chain would all get covered in this orange mars dust from our local trails. i got a pink VFR for free, stripped the paint raw and built it up with spare parts and left it at my friend's house near the trails. it was a garbage bike, but it was fun to ride on the trails, nice mellow geometry. everybody thought it was a dirtbike because it had slam bars, and everybody else around were riding dirtbikes and holmes.
