* Skyway EZ freestyle bars
* Skyway Stem
* Skyway Spinmaster detangler
* A'ME round grips (replaced with new ones)
* Odyssey System 2000FS brakes (matching two-tone)
* "Skyway" stamped Odyssey brake levers (very rare)
* Odyssey seat clamp
* Skyway stamped Viscount seat
* Skyway layback seat post
* SR Turbox cranks
* Skyway power disc
* Skyway 43T Chainwheel
* Izumi chrome/black chain
* Matching Shimano-type pedals (Hsing Ta made)

I love it!  Clean that one up but don't change anything.  OG Skyways definitely stand out from the crowd.

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me...

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Yeah I'm keeping this all original. Need to find white or gray skinwall freestyle tires.

The original GT tires were so bad I had to cut them off with a saw!!

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

I was thinking about it, but I'm not sure how brand new decals would look on a scuffed up survivor paint job

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Keep it untouched. It's only original once! Feel me? Clean it up as much as you can but don't F with it. It's a survivor.

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Nice to see an all original Street Beat for once instead of all the restored ones out there.   It has battle scars!  It is in great survivor condition.

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Not going to do anything else to it now.  Won't be repainted, won't get new decals.  It's done.  Nice white skinwalls, mags dyed to match the dark blue in the decals.  I know the wheels are darker than original, but the original was faded so bad and I don't really think blasting is a great idea.  I've seen mixed results.  I think this looks way better. The small amount of dark blue in the frame is really brought out by the wheels.  Looks killer.

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Dude. NIIICE. Just get some new chevrons and leave it be. Oh and new tires and stuff. But frame wise thats all I would suggest.

Re: 1986 Skyway Street Beat

Subscribed!

Very nice indeed!  I have my StreetStyler I am working on updating it a bit since paint is thrashed and I do not like white anyway.

I want to keep lavender but switch to this gray instead of the white.  Anyone happen to know what this gray color  is?  A close powder or RAL #?  I am going crazy trying to find a match.

May just have to use these excellent pics and use PowderBuyThePound.com app to try to match it.  I may end up just changing mine to a StreetBeat, since no one seems to know the difference between the frames of a 86 Styler and Beat...

Any help would be appreciated.  Again, great looking bike.  Proof being I am looking to copy the look. big_smile
