Whoa - it must've taken some serious dedication to put something like that together on such a high-level.  Great attention to detail!  Very cool that Rick was involved, too.  Beyond well done!

Re: Rick Allison Custom Trick Star replica!

Hey guys ..i just wanted to start off by saying Terry did an Amazing job at replicating my signature Rick Allison Pro trick star from 1988. I worked with Hutch ,Dan Hanebrink,Chris Potts ,and myself to come up with The next generation HUTCH. Hutch came out with the Trick Star 11 which i refused to ride. So we came up with This bike to Best the old Hutch and stay true to an American built bike that was like the original trick star..100% cool and durable. I Used this bike for 3-4 contests..shows all over the world ,and used it for ramps ,ground ,and street riding ..never ever backing off. I Got 2nd pro on this bike at the Veladrome contest and at the worlds in Manchester i also got 2nd flatland pro on it. It was an amazing bike. When we were to produce it ,un known to me Hutch was in the mist of bankruptcy. So he kept not paying me my salary and putting back the date to produce the bike..I was to get roalties for this bike and more. Hutch left me with out pay as i rode for him for months..After news of his selling the company i broke the bike on purpose. just beat the heck outa it and thru it in the dumpster. Big Big mistake ..as i reflect on that one. So back to Terri ..he dedicated this past yr to recreating ,in my mind one of the best Hutch bikes never built . It is in the record books as a gem of a bike..guys have offered me thousands to have the original ,not believing me when i told them its gone. Terry had been in direct contact with me over the course of the build and this is 100% correct in my eyes..to the original biuld i did. Over the course of the yr i rode it ..i changed and modified things on it...but hes done it ...the original bike ...Wow...im so jealous and happy to see it again. I LOVE THIS BIULD.It gives me such pride to see it again in its glory. This is The only bike i ever had designed. I saw guys saying the levers are upside down..correct..when i did finger flips and upside down manuvers..i chose to have levers front and back levers switched so i could lock em easier. I hope you all enjoy the only Rick Allison Hutch bike ever built..this is a one of a kind..i think Terry should be put on a pedistal or win an award for his efforts and abilties of love to recreat my vision. THANK YOU TERRY.   Yours truely Rick Allison ,.bmx forever.

Re: Rick Allison Custom Trick Star replica!

Wow.
This makes my top 5.
I remember talking about the differences bitd at a local 7-11.
I was doing cars then.
I later saw a Windstyler and thought it was the same thing.
I just now learned that I was wrong.
Thanks for that little glimpse into my BMX history.

Re: Rick Allison Custom Trick Star replica!

phenomenal recreation, and Not to nitpick, but the brake pads in the OG pics look like second gen matthausers. Great job, been waiting to see someone do this build !

Yep, i mention that in the parts breakdown.  I have the correct pads here but they wouldnt fit in without slicing half the pad off hmm

edit .. oh. you mean the front pads?

Re: Rick Allison Custom Trick Star replica!

Off the charts. One of the greatest bikes I have seen on here.  If not the greatest.

I can totally understand smashing the og bike and dumping it, could see myself doing that.

Wonder if it would feel the same to ride?
