I'm wondering how anyone will be able to tell some of these current bikes apart 20yrs from now when they turn up re-painted, no decals, etc?

Re: A question about the future of collecting

I'm never selling my completes and could care less whether they go up or down in value. I paid what I had to to get the job done. Now I enjoy them, grow older, and die eventually.

1970s and 1980s OG Holy Grail parts will just get more expensive .     big_smile
It's getting harder to get the good Condision parts .  big_smile

Re: A question about the future of collecting

sunday odyssey and g-sport have out so many limited edition colored parts. recently joined that scene and reality quickly set in. all their parts are so hard to find and are already actually considered "rare" even though they have only come out a few years ago. that shizz is nuts. but seems like alot of people already collect and hoard these parts. i feel comfortable saying now that these bikes and parts are pretty good investments and for collecting. IMO

WTB: PINK odyssey hubs, rims and twombolt cranks
WTB: BRIGHT YELLOW odyssey/sunday handle bars
WTB: VAPOR BLUE sunday funday aaron ross frame
WTB: ORANGE SODA odyssey v3 stem

Re: A question about the future of collecting

Nice to see this thread still going. I'm still buying and selling but haven't had the urge to sell off the collection yet. I do find myself "visiting" my bike room less and less now though. Kinda sad. It's amazing the flood of memories that room can create.
