Scored a NOS CHAMPION seat post.

So i had been buying stuff from this guy on ebay. He said that he used to race for Champion and Bandito. Well i bought some the champion stuff he had while ago.I told him if he finds any more to let me know. Well he contacted me this weekend and said he found a seat post unused and asked if i was interested in it. I said hell yes...

Nice find!

One of the cooler posts having the stamp versus any with just a decal.

Re: Scored a NOS CHAMPION seat post.

Scroll down past the initial auction to see what is going on with leftover Champion frame tubing from 1982......

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Old-School- … 4619306744

What is the general consensus on this? I am not sure how I feel about this but it sure would be nice to have a 26" Champion as my next project.

DISCUSS......

Re: Scored a NOS CHAMPION seat post.

sad

I guess this news is not worthy of it's own topic of discussion since the thread I started on this got merged back into this SCORE thread.....oh well, so much for trying to get a gauge on what the BMX collectors out there think of this development.....maybe someone will chime in....

hmm

Re: Scored a NOS CHAMPION seat post.

I guess this will just have to die a slow death here where no one will get to see what is going on with Champion....when these things flood the market and people can't differentiate between a true original and one that was put together after 32 years, I am sure someone will start a thread about it at that point.....

This is the 1st time that I can truly say that I am extremely disappointed with the bmxmuseum and the way this is being buried in a thread away from from a whole bunch of potentially interested parties.

If there was ever a topic that should be brought to the BMX collectors attention, this is it.

SHAMEFUL......

sad

Re: Scored a NOS CHAMPION seat post.

I think each ebay listing will have the serial numbers, so it should be easy to compile a list of the newly assembled bikes. That list could easily be added to the champion page.

So what is up with this? I can't get ebay at work and have not heard anything regarding Champion stuff being made from old tube stock. Is someone just doing a limited run of stuff like frames or is there seatposts bars and all that also? Kind of lame if it can not be designated from original stuff. I really love my real 1981 Champion 26".

You're in luck!  They're going to release the 26" in the near future, at $1100 A POP!!  (no thanks)
BTW, they're accepting "pre-order" deposits of $400 if you wanna get on the "limited list" for one.  roll
