Yep, I did a new school cassette hub laced to Araya 7X copies from Porkchop.  I started with this Macneil hub.

Wish someone out there would invent a 7/8" pivotal seat post. Sucks having to use rail seats on the hybrids!

My frankenbike - stuff from almost every decade since the 70s.  And still my favorite rider, hands down.

I'm talking frame comfort, not seat comfort. The frame's been gone for a while now. Moved most of the parts onto an S&M ltf.

Pretty sure Macneil makes or made a 22.2mm/7/8" pivotal as well.

Nice color combo. Something about blue and black. That's not the first time you've posted this color combo on a bike so I take it's a FAV of yours. Technically, if anyone is putting Frequency G's even on their old school they are making it a hybrid. I did on this '87.

Was thinking of doing a reverse concept on a build this spring. Taking a new school frame and putting Dyno pretzel bars on it. Boy wouldn't Roy just love that! - lol big_smile

I always admire wired's bikes. Not only is he a master of repair and restoration, but his bikes are so well thought out from a design standpoint.

Re: For Those That Want To Post Their OLD, MID, & NEW SCHOOL HYBRIDS!!

The only real hybrid, flatland setup I did in 08.   I used to love these GT's, but I got spoiled by 74 to 75 head tube angles of the newer frames.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/thatbmxguy/gtbike.jpg

The tnt Kod is technically mid-new hybrid.  It rides pretty good, just a heavy frame.  I'm all for less weight.  The feel of the frame is spot on though...  It may have a 20.75 tt, but it feels more like 20.25 because the seat tube is slacked, like 69 or 70.  I did get it pretty light though..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/thatbmxguy/kodw1.jpg

I've been trying new frames, like the Sunday. I'd rather destroy something new over something I can't get.   If I can just find a frame with 20.5" top tube and 14.25" chainstay, slammed, that would be nice.

Here are a few that I have done. All have cups modded to accept the new integrated bearing sets and new forks with integrated bearing races. Just a mash of parts, all are riders so whatever works best for me. smile
