Re: 2000 GT Tour

Thanks guys, i appreciate that you like it big_smile

I got obsessed with the bikes these guys (Rob Nolli, Dave Voelker, Jamie Bestwick, Mike Parenti, Tom Haugen) in the Team used to ride between the years 1998-2001.

Yes Latin, it needs the right seat, i would say it needs it BADLY!!!
Oh! I have and the original platform pedals, though they do not offer much of a grip ( i want to ride it once in a while!)
And my old camera don't do it justice sad

Any other changes on it?
I'm thinking a set of white tires and grips..

Re: 2000 GT Tour

Oh my, Duke - that looks GREAT!
Congrats on a wicked build.  Must be tough to leave the house without it!
Been thinking about the white tires - could look totally your own, you know?  Factory, but yours, like the way Bestwick's forks and cranks were white back in '99...

Re: 2000 GT Tour

The white grips will make the decals stand out more,go for it.The white tires we'll have to put on a pair to see if they look right.Look at the bright side you'll be the only one with that set up .I haven't seen one 2000 like that.

The pedals get some GT cage ones.Stickwith GT,same goes for the grips & tires.

Do you have pegs?
Are you going to run them?
They will also make it look better.

Duke,Did you see how my 98 turned out?

Re: 2000 GT Tour

white tires, white grips and Primo Stricker pedals would make it look one of a kind and they will match the white stickers wink

I do like pegs on these bikes, actually i do like them a lot........but i plan to ride it and 4 pegs are heavy. Also i'm not going to put them in use, as i don't want to do any grind variations on this bike....i respect it and want it to stay clean tongue

No, i have't seen your 1998.....i've been missing for a while and lost some action sad
Do you have a link?

He rode a yellow frame, absolutely, but it was an earlier model I believe.

Since this is a thread about red Tours by those who love red Tours, here's a pic of mine (in front is my original 1983 GT Pro frame set).

Yeah, Voelker rode a yellow Tour!!
I have a picture of him in a BMX Plus magazine, riding the yellow Tour in the Burning Bike contest (1999 i think).

Oh! I will made some updates to the pictures......i bought the original headtube badge off ebay (!!!) and a set of GT bar ends for 1'' bars big_smile

Re: 2000 GT Tour

It don't look like that now.In the pic.it was apart, I had just had picked it up from the first owner. It only looked like that till the next day, when I put my touch on it.

The levers have rubber like covers  for grip plus looks

Re: 2000 GT Tour

Yeah, chrome is my favorite too big_smile

The wheels on the original 1998s were not the Araya Super7xs, these came stock with the Weinmann 25-25 rims wink
Nice rims, they look like the Primo Balance though..
