1999 Standard 125R

Standard 125r, think this is about a 1999.

bought this frame from chilly, then built 'er up with the help of my local LBS and a hand from the local machine shop. going to try this one brakeless and see what I can break. after being out of riding for 20 years and only being back in for a year, it's amazing how much smoother (and longer) the bikes are. I can't say enough good things about this ride, can't wait for the snow to melt and my aging back to heal up so I can hit the local trails and parks. 1999-ish Standard 125r frame - 21.5" tt Colony Official forks Cane Creek headset Profile Acoustic stem (48mm) Snafu Sissy bars (7.75" rise) Redline Freaky-X grips Diamondback Pro cranks (175mm, American BB) Profile Magnalite 25t sprocket Redline alloy pedals S&M seat post clamp Eastern Birectional 9t wheel Haro MS4 tire (soon to be tires once the front wheel comes in) waiting on an Odyssey Aitken seat and a Premium Lite Wheel for the front.

Killer way to bring mid school into the new school. Those lighter standard frames were ahead of their time.

I've been thinking of an S&M or Fit Hawk build for the spring but may just look for another Standard.  for a race frame you can still slam the rear end and be just about 14" and the stand over height is perfect, too.  if I'd paid attention to BMX frames and what you could build in the mid to late 90's I wouldn't have wasted all those years on mountain bikes tongue

yep, it's held up perfectly, I'll try to post some updated pics.  the Aitken seat is tits, too, has taken a ton of riding and abuse and still looks almost new.

Re: 1999 Standard 125R

just started this winter's build, a 2005 S&M Black Bike, shooting for black, gold and chrome, with a little red and white worked in for good measure.  hopefully will have her done in a month or so and then get some pics up.

the Standard has been an absolute beast, stood up to a ton of abuse this spring/summer/fall and none the worse for wear.  can't say enough good things about Standard.

Re: 1999 Standard 125R

just ordered the last batch of parts for the S&M, hopefully will have her put together in the next week or two.

2005 s&m black bike
s&m pitchforks xlt (black)
s&m redneck stem (gold)
fsa headset (gold)
profile bb (chrome)
diamondback pro crank 175mm (chrome)
proper front wheel (gold/gold)
alienation v2 freecoaster rear wheel (black/red)

still deciding on seat and bars, will probably run some white sissy bars and a white snafu medaris seat until I make up my mind for good.  will definitely run this one brakeless, too.
