Mongoose question...
Did the early geese all have nickel finishes? and did the painted ones have a nickel finish underneath?
Stumped here.

Re: Mongoose question...
as far as i know they were either nickle or epoxy painted, not painted over the top of nickle, if you polish through the paint on the 3 main down tubes the metal polishes like a nickle type colour but that i think is just the cro-moly steel, i found that it polishes up differently than normal steel.

Re: Mongoose question...
The standard painted Mongoose were not plated.
Earliest unpainted frames were nickel. Sometime in 1980 switched to Chrome.
Teams got Candy over Nickel then Candy over Chrome. Mid-81 Teams got Candy over silver base (not plated).

he's spot on, i wasn't sure about the team but they were candy, also think the team and supergoose were full cro moly frames with a letter T stamped in front of the date code.
also middle of 80 onwards supergoose was a deep chrome finish
