1985 CW Racing Z-1000

SOLD TO CBLEE

survivor,100%
complete

I purchased this from Noob, (Thanks Buddy!) He purchased it from bb, so this bikes been around the forum! The brake cables are dated 1984. This is a pretty obsure model; even the CW/Revcore site didn't have one, and they only recently posted a catalogue scan. Mine looks quite different, however. Mike from Re-Cycle Bike Shop here in Omaha did all of the work on it for me. When he took the bars off he found that they were slightly crimped and that someone had set two pennies in there to compensate for this! I love riding this bike! It is pretty quick with nice aggressive geometry(of course that could just be my 6'5" frame on a 18.5" toptube). I'd like to find another one to compare. If you know of one, or own one, please send me a message. Thanks

Re: 1985 CW Racing Z-1000

Thanks dude! It's a little rough (chipped paint) around the rear dropouts and chainstay, but it's all 100% original and I bought it in complete survivor condidtion, so I figure it should stay that way.

I'm glad you like it  big_smile
It is fast, and a wheelie machine!

Re: 1985 CW Racing Z-1000

I still own a Z 1000 that I bought straight from the bike shop back in '85. Saw the black one, opted for the white one and haven't seen another white one since. I have seen one other black one. Never saw one original with a layback. If I'm not mistaken, the CW layback posts from that time had a brace. I am jealous how much original stuff you do have on this bike though...like most 12 year-olds back then I added a bunch of stuff, repainted it a few times, changed the decals, etc. I wish it was easier to find info on this one, but it doesn't appear too many were manufactured. Beautiful bike!

In the real world, my name is Chris. I make custom pads with original artwork. I don't make unlicensed reproductions...because I'm not a dick. Custom BMX Shop on facebook.

Re: 1985 CW Racing Z-1000

Does the serial number start sc1? I've got one very similar but the forks look a bit different.
