Re: 26" Custom Diamond Cruiser & Strandies - ONLY! The splinter thread :)

Here is a Cycle Pro cruiser I recently sold.  The first picture is the original ad picture.  When the guy came over to pick it up, we swapped out the wheels, tires and bars.  He added a different seat, cranks, pedals and stem.  The second picture is how it looks today.

Good looking bike, both versions. Did you save the original parts? I would be interested in buying that crank .

He kept the crank.  Swapped it out after he took it home.

Here is a cool cruiser i picked up.The frame is a Japanese Meiko early mountain bike with hike a bike round tube to fit your shoulder, parts are all bmx mostly and the bars are unkown bmx cruiser bars with knurling for bicycle not motor cycle, cool finger tip shifting at the end of the bar.Bars are 29.5 wide.

Japanese brakes from a company i never heard of called Cherry, look like Dia-Compes but a little more beefy and stop great with motorcycle levers.

This Bike wheelies awesome!

As found condition, 81 Torker 26. It's waiting it's turn for a complete tear down and rebuild.

I think Cherry was one of DC's house brands sorta like Lee Chi... a lot of NOS red dot levers out there in Cherry packaging and light moto/moped stuff too. Is that a sealed headset ala Shimano 600? Very cool.

King Sting goodness finally in my garage. Man I never imagined from the pictures how tight the cockpit is on these. Much as I hate to modify such an OG survivor bike (as if me and "not modify" EVER belongs in the same sentence lol) definitely will have to do something about that.

99% as per original save the OG King sealed headset, OG Strong alloy post, OG Tuff Neck style clamp and new cables/grips/tires. 100% original paint decals and chrome. Need to find a 44t chainring, and I'm torn on the bent levers or not, I've seen them both ways, and though I'm usually the last guy on the planet to worry about date coded brake cables, yeah, I think I'm going there on this one because this new yellow just feels too electric for me to possibly be right.

Re: 26" Custom Diamond Cruiser & Strandies - ONLY! The splinter thread :)

So I got a killer deal on this Cycle Pro from a member here on the board and have been piecing it together little by little.. Sorta like a budget build and this what I have so far.

Re: 26" Custom Diamond Cruiser & Strandies - ONLY! The splinter thread :)

I need to build some wheels for it. I have a pair of some Arayas 7x that need some attention and need to get some gum walls also.. Also trying to decide what color to go with this build. Obviously I have blue anno for parts but just thinking to go with the red or another color on the frame.?
Oh well, when that time comes I will make a my choice.
