1988 Redline RL 20b

tropical kiwi beauty!

This is more of a tribute build to the first brand new bike ever purchased for me to go riding. We were poor and my buddy thand72 was living with us, and was cool enough to come home with this unbelievably beautiful bike. I have never forgotten the colour since i first seen it. Bought this frame just over a year ago from cannadian freestyler (thank you) but it was survivor condition blue. And thanks to my friend and painter ToBigToRide265 he has completely restored this frame and fork for me back to its original colour kiwi. Its almost finished. Just awaiting on seatpost and clamp, chainwheel and seat and number plate. Then I will be updating the photos as my photography skills become better

Unfortunatey no. It is a redline though smile i do search for them every know and again. Its like right now it will have double pinch flights on it until i can afford another set of 88 flights. I cant stand looking at a finished frame and fork and not have parts to build. Lol drives me nuts! Lol

Re: 1988 Redline RL 20b

That bike didn't originally come with such good bars and stem did it?

Out of the box, they came with 20b bars. Same style on the top of freestyle bars, but rounded on the bottom. 88 redlines did not come with the original forklifter stem. This build was preference. 88 i believe was the only year that came with a 6 bolt stem and hada barrel adjuster that was permanent for the rotor detangler system. At least i think. Im not a fan of the rotor so my bikes get gyros.

Correction i was wrong. In the 88 catalog the 20b has a gyro on it, the 20II came with the rotor cause the gyro couldnt fit around the twin top tubes that wrap around head tube

It looks almost factory! I couldnt have done it without ya bro! Ive never been more satisfied than with this build. And ToBigToRide265 (frank) did a killer job with the paint. Not one single flaw! He also made sure it had gumwall tires on her lol
