 Nice bars. Those green parts look great.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

1000% positive they are Peregrine 1.5 Gen Q bars. and thanks man, When I got the bike, it was ALL chrome with black accents. it NEEDED some color and green was my choice :-)
Morales made freestyle bars? I thought they just made frames? Which i JUST scored a morales flatland frame last night :)

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

they are perigrine bars.  mine are on the bike that chase gouin was riding on the 1994 cover of bmx plus.  he gave me the bike when he started to ride a hoffman big daddy.  which i also inherited.  i have the same dyno slammer as yours given to me by brandon fenton from the movie enter the sun.  chase is a nice guy and never charged anyone anything for his old parts.  some prob ended up in the junkyard but i try and save as much as possible.  hope for chase as he has a bad infection right now and isnt doing well at all.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

i had the frame but my basement flooded in about 1996 or so and ruined that frame and a hoffman big daddy that i had.  we got these bikes when we were like 13-14 and were riding them and not really thinking about them becoming collectors.  15 years ago trickstars were still laying around.  i just recently noticed i regret it every time i sell something so i dont anymore.  the big daddy was given to me by BIKE BOY THE KING.  he is from australia and does shows all over the world.  he came to detroit and we were watching his show with our bikes and he wanted a new bike so we took him straight to albes and he bought a standard shaman which he still rides today.  hes on youtube.  he just gave me his bike before he left.  super nice guy.

Make sure you keep that dyno.  i sold 2 and still have 1 and havnt seen anymore up close since.  yours is really nice.  how do you post pics on this site?  submit?  my frames are really cool but theyre seriously ridden hard and put away wet.  no flashy paintjobs or anything.  is that approvable?

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

well thats weird.  i checked another members 1998 and thats where his is.  mine isnt grinded down or anything but theres def no serial number on it.   maybe it literally missed that step.  thanks.  i guess i need to post the bars i have in the name it section.  when i saw your perigrine bars i remembered those but i typed in bmx plus magazine chase and the pic came up with the bars you have on the frame i had.  but my bars arent in any pics.  they were on the bike though when i got it complete.  these bars have some serious rake!!  thanks again.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

yup, checked... my ser# is on upper half of left rear drop out. think it starts with 0197xxxxx
Peregrine Q bars, 1st and 1.5 gen are the best flatland bars ever IMO...

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

thanks man!! the shame of it is; those green tires are Duro tires and they are garbage. Only other green, new tires I see are Kenda Kontacts, which I don't think are that good for flatland.... So I just bought a set o fblack Odyssey Frequency G's for it and I'll probably be putting black grips on too :(

Well, i just installed my first pair of Kontacts on a 98 Slammer (my daughters bike and she demanded 100% ALL BLUE tires, lol).  So I thought I would give them a shot.  I will probably get it out for a spin here pretty soon when it warms up.  I will let you know how they do.  The price was right, but we'll see how they hold up.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

Yeah, I just installed the same set of blue Kendas on my buddy's 97 Dyno Compe, lol. He loves them. I don't like them for scuffing... a bit to abrasive for my tastes. but they are def good riding or cruising tires. and the Dyno you built for your daughter looks awesome!!!!

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

Thanks man.  She was pretty specific about a few things.  We had a good time picking out pieces/colors.  Main requirements from her: very shiny chrome, blue tires and accessories with some black accents.  So more required looks than specific parts.  BUT, she was happy when it was all put together.  good times.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

All that matters is that SHE was happy :)
I can only hope my 6 year old daughters want 'bikes like Daddy'. They are content with their Disney Princess and Barbie bike (respectively) for now though, lol.

Re: 1997 Dyno Slammer

they probably will.  my kiddo had a few of those.  but when I got back into bikes last year and she saw the chrome and colors (then I took her to the skate park one day) it was on.  she started zero'ing in on things and we eventually picked it all out.  GOOD LUCK!:D
