1979 Mongoose Motomag

A Spray bomb mess!

9/25: Ugliest bike I've seen in a while. The guy I picked it up from told me he let his 8 year old nephew have it and got it back in this condition. Pretty beat up too. The kid just pulled out a can of flat black on this thing and killed it! Sprayed every inch of the bike even the seat and grips. I've seen so many kids do this trying to fit in with the new school bikes. Terrible fail! Hope they got this kid a new school bike to fit in. Couldn't see it like this anymore so I started stripping it immediately. Paint stripper does the job! Especially on non prepped spray bombing. The sprocket (chain wheel) came clean real quick. Mostly OG except the wheels, brakes and quick release lever. I'll keep messing around with it and see what I come up with.  10-1 Update: Stripped the frame thinking there was nickel (because that's what the seller told me) underneath but just raw metal. The fork is nickel though. Put some rust inhibitor on it will wait for a great idea.

It doesn't look bad! roll

Hose it down with some paint stripper! wink

I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets).
Thanks wink

Yes sir! This is it. You would've needed to see it in person. I've been on it. I'll take some pics of it stripped and post em. Thanks for the save!
