How is that unfortunate?

The Tree stuff is still made the same way,the the same specs and same tolerances, still has the same warranty that Sam backs up,parts are no longer on back order due to demand exceeding supply, the only difference now is that it's made in a different country and the parts are now cheaper for the consumer to buy.

So besides being made in the usa,how is that a bad thing?

Sounds to me like that's exactly what he was saying, same as you. Since he said "still really great quality". I think we all acknowledge the cost savings of stuff being made overseas, but it's still unfortunate that U.S. (or Canadian) jobs/work/income is lost to overseas manufacture, quality or not.

Re: Made In USA?

BREW offers the best deal of them all!  You can buy a frame of theirs for $1500, but that INCLUDES 50 hours of teaching you how to weld it!!!!!!  Too cool.

I don't know if he's still making frames, could check google, but I'll let you do that... but Matt Assenmacher made some kick as custom bikes. Road, mtn, tandem... I'm sure he could whip up a bmx bike no problem. That is, if he is still making frames.

http://www.assenmachers.com/

They have a shop, but not sure if they still make the frames
