Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!

I’ll call this version 1.1...

Pulled the Profiles and swapped them for some Takagi MX cranks, Takagi spider, a Tange BB and suntour pedals. Also replaced the Bendix coaster with a Shimano MX because the Bendix wasn’t lining up properly.

Done!

Thanks man!

I was thinking GT cruisers. Very similar to KOS bars. I have a set on my Laguna. I could swap them out.

That red Bassett is rad cool

I just picked up an '86 GT Pacific Cruiser frame. The plan right now is to sit on it for a while, and look for some forks I want. Being an '86 I'd like to load it up with the earlier GT parts I have around. If I can't find some original forks I think something where the fork legs go past the dropouts, like the freestyle forks were that year, as were Bottema and my favorite Bassett forks are. I have some wheels, but eventually I'd like to put gears on it.

It'll be a bit before I get to it, hopefully by the end of summer.

All these pics of Bassetts inspired me to change a couple of things. I lowered my seat 1” and installed a set or Redline cruiser bars that were gathering dust.https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/207817/cd4a67d9-81ce-4118-be04-f903d90689366080b64091.jpeg

Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!

This thread is my favourite on the museum. Very jealous of these rides as they are few and far between here in Australia. All these bikes are incredible works of art.

I’m not sure what a pl-1 clamp is the seat clamp came on that huffy stem that’s on the basset I had to change them out because they’re 1”
