What kind of adhesive did you use to glue in the brake pads?

Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!
Here's a few works in progress. The S&S in the photo is just a frame and fork. Borrowed some parts from the Laguna and a Schwinn Varsity to ride it around the beach a few weeks ago. Put everything back on the Laguna. The Laguna is as in the photo but has brakes now. The Webco will definately need some work but I haven't picked it up yet.

Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!
Will do as soon as I can take delivery. A member here picked it up for me and is holding it. Also have a frame & fork that had an Emory headbadge and stamped Webco on the brake bridge. Same as in photo here but doesn't have the third bar. I believe was originally sold for use at a local (Jacksonville, FL) Coca-Cola bottling plant. Was chained up outside for who knows how long. rear rim was completely rusted through and finish had been spray bombed a few times badly. Now is stripped and waiting a decision on color. I'll do some pics of the "Coca-Cola Bike" f&f.

Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!
I've never been into the beach cruiser type rides but in the last few years, I've really begun to appreciate them. Especially the USA made stuff from the early 80's, I guess I'm just surprised at how many options were out back then.
I'm going to begin my search for something to restore myself. There are so many cool restorations in here - DGR - your restoration is freakin' incredible! Nice work on that stem.
So what is a "strandrie" anyway?

A strandie would be a 26'' cruiser that you would see on the boardwalks at the beach.dudes build some custom rides to bring some bling to the strand.

81 S&S Newport.... I love this bike
All parts were NOS except the frame and fork. The best pieces on this build are the Tuff Neck bars and the blue Troxel springer seat. This one is often seen riding in the hood with my pack of kids in tow.

Nice Newport!
My girl rides a blue S&S ladies Newport. I just picked up some new wheels for it and as soon as I put her new tires on I'll post photos of it.

I'm not sure, a buddy of mine that's into vintage BSA, Triumph, etc had them in his backyard in a scrap pile and I pulled them out and cleaned them up. I did see another set online on a late 50's BSA though....
I do love them and they are super comfortable on the Laguna!!
