I tracked that image to here....

They called it Sky Blue Powdercoat. Sky Blue powdercoat is RAL 5015

Nice! also a fellow Skyway fan myself. The retro TA's are getting harder to find now since they stopped production of them when the company got sold.

Re: Skyway 24" Builds thread..

I'm building another 24TA and as much as I'd love to use a bullseye v brake you just can't find them anymore.

So I'd like suggestions on another brand that matches the contour of the frame not sticking out too far the more they point in the better.

Post pics if you have some. Thanks cool

That is a great looking Skyway BenJamin, loving the red colour of those tuffs. They don't look as bright red as usual, I like the ones you have a lot more - very cool bike you have there......cool

On the 24 frame, how far apart are the brake posts (center to center)?

Help me understand why this matters.

SKYWAYNE1026 wants a V-brake with arms that don't stick way out to the sides.

The measurement between brake posts can vary between different frames.

If his frame has posts that are somewhat close together compared to other frames, I was then going to ask how wide his rim was.  Maybe I should have asked that with the first question.

If you use a wide rim with a frame that has narrow brake post spacing, you'll never get the brake arms to tuck in no matter which brake you use.

Alot of people will insist that it's all in the adjustment (like "installing the thin brake pad washers on the inside"), but that's only a part of it.

@skywayne 1026
A bit tricky using skyway mags (Quite wide) with koolstop brake pads, due the seatstay on this 24 a bit narrow. So I took off that adjuster ring on the koolstop pads, between fins and locknuts. The pads Still roomy around 1mm each side to the mags and they stop very well.

That '85 Skyway team with Richie Anderson, Cheri Elliot, Eddie Seigmond was so good.  The white frames with graphites and uniforms...good as it gets!

Thank you that looks fine, I'm running the same red tuffs but with narrow pads and washers reversed so I think the box 3 will work great.
Thanks again for the photos cool
