1997 GT Pro Freestyle Tour

Mid-school shiny thing.

I've put new Kenda tires, A'me grips, KMC chain and a GT racing seat on, I've also upgraded the cranks to the 180mm GT Profiles and some new Redline pedals, not to mention the piston stem. It's been a fun bike to build, both my son and I ride it, so I leave the post at his height.

Re: 1997 GT Pro Freestyle Tour

There's a "Team GT" sticker on the drive side top tube, but this isn't a team model frame? I don't know anything about it's history, so I don't know what's been changed. Regardless, if I come across some GT stamped Profile cranks at a reasonable price, I may just get them. That makes sense about the frame being built in '96 for the '97 production run, it's got a below 50 build number.

Re: 1997 GT Pro Freestyle Tour

97 model, the team gt sticker was added and was just a promo sticker shops gave out for kids lunch boxes or...put on your bike frame smile
stem should be a black piston stem. 97 was the last year for the "pro freestyle tour"...starting in 98 they changed the frame completely and
chopped the name down to just "Tour"... hmm

Re: 1997 GT Pro Freestyle Tour

Stem and cranks upgraded, did a bunch of other stuff too, like tires, grips, seat and bashguard. Now that the pics are taken, I can start getting it dirty!
