1981 Cook Bros. Racing

top quality!!

This bike was in storage for 28 years!!  All top shelf parts-Campy Pista 170s, Cook Bros bars, DK junior stem, Ukais, Cook Bros hubs, Campy brake, etc. Even has a Hutch mini-mag headset. Light as a feather. A little cleaning up and she's good to go

Re: 1981 Cook Bros. Racing

Probably more an 81 with that crush proof brake bridge and what look to be the axle tensioners.

CBR serials started over when they changed the brake bridge, and then again when they added the tensioners, so, a low SN is just a low SN for that model/version.

Sweet "little" bike. smile

Please ban me. Crazy you can't delete an account here. Seems like it would be a requirement of any forum. IDK...

Re: 1981 Cook Bros. Racing

Is this only CB Mini here in Museum?  Do you know what's the size of headset and BB?  I have the same frame and it's not 1 inch headset and BB?

Since sold, euro bb I believe, pretty sure the headset was 1" . It was more of a junior/std.

Re: 1981 Cook Bros. Racing

WOW, so this is rare huh?  I still have the other one and for the BB, I have used Sealed Ball Bearing, 17mm x 35mm x 10mm.  And for Headset, I've ordered, Tange headset with RACE Ø = 26.4mm with 30.2mm diameter insertion to frame.  Hope the headset fits; none of my 1" headset had the 30.2mm insertion diameter, all of it was too small.
