1998 DK Promotion
1998 DK Promotion
Kastan made Pro XL
I've had the frame, fork and bars sitting around for quite a while. I did gather up some parts for it at first (stem, brakes and wheels) and then just put it on the back burner.
Eventually I had enough parts to build it but they were just parts that I accumulated from other bikes. The one part that really held me up was the seatpost. Just couldn't get my hands on the right size. I had some blue Black Widow cranks that I tried out but I didn't like the look or the color as they were the wrong shade of blue. I had been planning to rebuild my Holmes so I took the cranks from it and put them on here just so I could get in some ride time.
Eventually I want to change the spider/chainwheel and probably get some Flight cranks. And I will strip the seatpost and polish it. I'd also like to get a blue seatpost clamp.

Re: 1998 DK Promotion
Does it actually say Promotion on that decal? Is that what DK means when they say PRO?
I had one with no decal and it was shaped like a Legend, but listed it as a Pro since that was most common.
26.6 is the seat post size... You can pick them up cheap on Ebay. Blue chainring and clamp would be perfect.
I have parts

Re: 1998 DK Promotion
Yep, it says Promotion. Only year they did that as far as I know.
I looked for a while for the seatpost but I couldn't find the right one in the right size. I wanted micro adjust and chrome or polished. After I put it on the back burner I kind of forgot about till I ended up with this one and just said "f-it" lol
Oh yeah, aside from the blue spc, I want either a blue chainring or spider.

Re: 1998 DK Promotion
I have the same frame. I have had it since around 1999 and it has been together with many different combinations of parts ever since. The original owner pealed the Promotion decals of though so its cool to finally see one with all of its decals.
