Re: 2013 SE's...Your first sneek peek!
For all of those diggin' on the first ever loop Floval retro, I just got some breaking news from TL.
What you are seeing is a prototype frame. The production models will have the famous PK/Floval headtube gusset for extra retro beefiness.
Ride with confidence knowing that your retro Floval can take pretty much anything you want to give it. Well, up to a point, obviously.
And now, for all those crying for 24" PK Ripper ( ), with a quick decal switch, you've got an even closer representation.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us"...
And I'll look down and whisper "no".

I'm just stoked that it has the old style seatmast junction! That is good news Capn! This years Folval seems pretty freakin sweet the more I hear about it!

Do they have the gusset between the top tube, bottom tube and the head tube like Nemo describes above? Just wondered if you'd opened one up?

All production models should have the gusset. If any don't, I would say send it back. The gusset is there for a reason.

I'd like to see a pic of a prod one. I have to admit, the REALLY oldschool appeal of the prototype one in Pics that you had was intoxicating. Not sure about the the Gusset, Hmmmm..

Big Rippers I believe will be in stock in a couple more months. I'll check, though!

The gusset makes it look stronger in my opinion.... and it looks like an SE gusset too...

Re: 2013 SE's...Your first sneek peek!
Noooooooooo!
Thanks very much for the post Ed. You Rock! I'm glad I saw that before I ordered it. I think that just killed it for me. That is one Big 'Ol Gumby Gusset. Looks like what it must have been, an afterthought.
Oh well. I'll rattle it around a little bit, maybe it'll grow on me.
So, lets talk about how I get my hands on that Prototype in Nemo's pictures!
I like this look way better on a Retro:
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/se_racing/43766
If it has a gusset it should look like the one on this one, much cleaner, sleeker and lower profile:
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/se_racing/46261
Or this one on the 2013 PK. This one doesn't look like an afterthought.
