when i see a mongoose at walmart, i try and picture the metal being used to make something more useful, like a frying pan, or maybe some clothes hangers...oh well...its out of my hands.
my bikes are tri-moly. that means i have 3 times more chromo than you..haha

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
i dont know about what models came in chrome, but after looking in the museum, i see they have a 93 master in green that is identical other than this one being chrome. i overlooked where the downtube meets the head tube. i still say early to mid 90's. anyone know if the master came in chrome back then?

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
i stand corrected mutt...as far as the infamous (what is it worth) question, nothing if you go by stocks..J/k but you cant put a dollar amount on it, the only way to find out is to auction it off.......its pretty much a sentimental value that varies by the person interested.

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
Im gonna say 98. It still has the midschool fusion parts on it, but it has ahead and 990 mounts. I had a 00 backtrail, and it had the newer haro parts on it, with the updated sprocket and stem. Also, my friends 98 haro race bike had the same seatpost, clamp and stem.
Used to be into Old school race bikes, now im only into Mid school Haros for the most part.

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
Yep! I also like Haros...
Probably it's Zippo of 1997 or 1998. My Blammo is from that era and used to have this exact seat on it..

Thanks for the input guys,I've desided to build her up and beat her down(I mean to ride her) and build her up again.
This should be fun.

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
I'm going to chime in on this one...
Its a Chrome-Plated 1999 Zippo. Zippos came with the Haro slant nose seat, 990 mounts, Kneesaver bars and the Haro Eyeball Megacrank (44 teeth). The 1999 Revo also had chrome-plated versions with the Eyeball Megacrank, but it had the Haro Padded seat, Sledgehammer bars and no 990's.
The Zippo retailed for about $260, the Revo around $190.
Here are pictures of both:

Hmm... Sounds like it might be a 98 because the 99 Blammo only came in Chrome and Blue (if Red is the original color on yours). Is your ABS in the front and a 990 in the back? Thats how its set-up on the 98 I believe. The 2000 has the Ubrake on the back, but I dont think they came in any colors but Black and Green. The 2001 also had Ubrakes in the rear, but Black and Sand for colors. 2001 had a Mirra Landing Pad seat also. The 98 had the Haro slant nose seat and Kneesaver 2 bars. They all sold for around $600 - $700 new.
Sorry if I'm all over the place, I could narrow it down if you had more parts info or a picture. Sounds like a 98 to me...

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
I had bought it brand new, but not complete! It was a breaking bike.
Yeah it's still with its original color(red) and stickers.
I have the ABS brake in the front and a 990 in the back.. Also all i know is that the bike before i buy it, used to have the Kneesaver 2 bars and the Haro Chevron stem (i'm not really sure of the stem's name). I didn't have much money back then and i asked him to sell them seperate...

Re: 1999 Haro Zippo
Just reading this thread. I just picked up a Zippo ... ONLY 1999 had 990 mounts w/ Twin top tubes. 97 and 98 did not have 990 mounts. 2000 models were completely redesigned and had single top tube
