1994 Haro Monocoque
1994 Haro Monocoque
Murdered Out Monocoque! HM003XL
This is the second of these beautiful frames that I had the good fortune to come across, and from the man himself nonetheless, MR BILL! This frame is one of the very rare XL sized frames produced for factory riders in 1994 with a 21.5" top tube length. This frame is also very special in that it is the only one of these early Monocoque frames I have seen with an 1 1/8" head tube allowing the use of the 1 1/8" threadless fork. This feature was found on very few high-end frames in 1994 as the technology was just beginning to penetrate the sport and build to the industry standard that it represents today. An additional feature making this frame different from the other early Monocoque frames is the absence of a cantilever brake bridge for the exclusive use of V-Brakes, another innovative technology of the time. And last but not least, Mr. Bill put a sinister coat of black powder on it after it's racing days in anticipation of building it up but never got around to it, and so it has passed into my possession! I'm looking forward to building both this and the other polished Monocoque frame in my collection very soon, so stay tuned for coming updates. Hope you enjoyed the bit of history and thanks for looking!

I know I'm late to the party on this ride, but WOW...had no idea Haro was building this style race frame so early in the game. Truly a work of art and ahead of its time...Impressive my friend!
