1998 Mongoose DMC

Rare freestyle bike

Back in 98 I bought a brand new 1998 Mongoose DMC PRO, Burlap in color with all the good gear on it. In 2003 I fell on hard times and in a moment of weakness I sold my treasured bike. From the day I sold my DMC PRO I regretted it and vowed that one day I would get another one. Well Ive been looking for the past 5 years and finally that day has come! I found a pencil grey frame for sale in extremely good condition so I snapped it up even though the grey model was the cheaper version of the DMC PRO. I have slowly been trying to buy up NOS parts but I have found it near impossible to find some items. I plan on restoring this bike back to what my bike originally looked like. Burlap color, fishbone seat and post profile cranks and (DMC Forks which I just cant find anywhere). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once I get all the original parts together and hopefully track down some decals I will change the color. But for now the frame and original decals are in such good condition I dont have the heart to change it. It is a work in progress but for now I will just enjoy it for what it is. Thanks for looking!!!

Re: 1998 Mongoose DMC

Hi Guys, here are some pics of my 98 Mongoose DMC resto. After much searching I have been able to find some NOS DMC Handle bars, NOS Stem and NOS Fishbone seat and seat post for my bike, however I am still searching for some DMC Forks. I know the other models like the aka and the K2 Bikes had the same forks, was hoping someone might know where I might be able to find a pair. Ive been searching ebay and google searches everyday for the last six months and have had no luck. Any ideas???

Thanks, hope you like the build so far!!!

I actually have the tan version of this frame, it was my favorite ramp bike. its been hanging in my garage for 13 years, may have to go out and wipe the dust off.
