Thanks KenC, that is exactly why I started this thread, for info like this. I must have missed your post also. I have heard from a few local members that the show your talking about was not really geared towards bmx/freestyle bikes.? Any truth to this? I have never been but plan on going this year to find out for myself.

If your going expecting to see a show with nothing but BMX/Freestyle then you will be disappointed, this is a show with everything, the EXPO portion is mostly bike shops with new bikes and a lot of road bikes, but the antique/classic portion is full of everything from Stingrays to Balloon Tire to BMX, BMX did dominate the show however the last two years they had it in 07 & 08

In 09 Mark and Dan canceled the antique/classic bike show at the last minute because of changes the St. Louis Bike Fed tried to impose on the individual venders/collectors, they then called all the out of town venders to inform them of the changes and then they all canceled their reservations. The Bike Fed still advertised the antique/classic show and swap but when people had shown up and there was no show and no venders a lot of people started to talk about the show and say it wasn't any good not realizing the show had been canceled and there was no show.

Don't let what you seen or heard about the 09 & 10 shows fool you, this show can and will be a great show, especially since Mark and Dan are on board again.

great news!!!

Re: Members in Missouri/Illinois post here

I'm looking forward, I spoke with the  promoter over the phone and  reserved a 10 x 10 space near the bike show area. I have a personal collection from'79-81 of  bmx in the Saint Louis area. This should be fun please stop by and say hey!

Re: Members in Missouri/Illinois post here

A friend called me last night telling me that he is working on putting together an indoor ALL bike swap in a building in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. I think he said it would either be the 2nd to last or the last Sunday in February. I will post more details as I have them. Here is what I know so far.

I will create a new thread for this swap when I get more details. I think he is starting to post on the Kansas City craigslist asking about interest.

The good: Indoors with heat and restrooms. Advertised locally and probably within a few states as well.
The not so good: He said it would be about $15-$20 per vendor.
The Unknown: Solid date/time,  size of booth space per vendor, whether or not there will be food vendors. Solid vendor price is yet to be determined. Location is tentative to discussion and interest. I will divulge the exact location once I hear back that it is going to be a solid event.

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

Re: Members in Missouri/Illinois post here

I've been told there are 95 swap spaces sold, I do not know the break down though on how many of them are bike shops and how many are individuals.

We need to find a way to meet up and put a face to the name.

Who all has a swap space reserved? if so, what is your space number? I have 4 spaces at the end of an isle (I 11 & 12, J 11 & 12) right across from the bike show for myself, Jake (NewbloodBMX) and his father.

I'm looking for a clean 1975 Mongoose (long) frame, and a nice original finish Mongoose Two/Four

I didn't even go the last 2 years and I'm close.

The swap was dead the last couple years because the previous promoters raised the rate for a swap space from $25 to $65 and the only ones that shown up were the bike shops.

I'm not sure how good the swap will be this year compared to the years prior to 09 but there are a lot of private vendors coming and the feedback we're getting from everyone is all good. Next year should be even better because they're looking for a larger more reasonably priced venue to have it and we'll have more time to promote it and get more out of town vendors to show up..
