1969 Schwinn Stingray Junior

I realize some of you may not agree this is bmx. I started riding in 1969, and this bike was what was available that year.
So I am starting my collection here, and adding this one to the bmxmuseum.
Where bmx bikes star is up to debate, this is it for me.
We are not accepting other Schwinn Crates etc. This is simply where MY personal collection starts. thanks for understanding. The FOCUS of this site is BMX bikes.. GAry

Re: 1969 Schwinn Stingray Junior

I started out on a copy of this in the early 70's, same frame as a stingray but badged as an Eastern. That thing did more miles and more jumps than any of the BMX's I've owned since. I even rode it right around Mt Egmont here in New Zealand, just over 100 miles in 2 days (seemed like a good idea at the time).

Re: 1969 Schwinn Stingray Junior

Ha, my first bike was basically the same bike, mine was closer to a '75 model but looked exactly the same.  One day I will get another one.  Mine eventually got a bmx conversion, shorty plastic fenders, knobby back tire, bmx seat.  I think the Stingray bars stayed til I sold it though.

Re: 1969 Schwinn Stingray Junior

The stingray is what was used for off road trails at the time. It is the birth bike for the bmx movement. Just saying.
