1999 Mongoose Menace 24

Growing up in New Zealand, my pocket money could never quite stretch to attain my dream bike (PK Ripper, Skyway TA, or even a Mongoose) as the US bikes were that much more expensive. Now that I no longer have to clear it with my old man what I spend my pocket money on, I decided to put this 24" project together.

Re: 1999 Mongoose Menace 24

Thanks.  it is almost done.  Will update pics when complete.  Unless SE Racing release a proper 24" PK Ripper (like they did the Big Ripper - so with looptail dropouts and the classic PK gusset) then I think this will be my only BMX build.  Now I am gonna move onto a 60's moped and add an electric hub motor http://www.icenicam.ukfsn.org/events5/100305b.html
cheers

Re: 1999 Mongoose Menace 24

Great job on this ride! Do you have any idea what the frame/fork spec difference is between the 20 & 24? I’m 5’10” and was wondering if a 24 would be a comfortable ride, there’s nothing around me to really test ride. Thanks!

Yes, even in the late 1980s I couldn't afford a GT Pro Series as they were close to $1000 NZD at the time a lot of money when beer was $15 for a 15 pack.
